Shimbashi Station is one of the most-used stations in the Tokyo Center. Almost all lines pass through here. If you get lost, re-orient yourself by going back to Shimbashi. The JR lines pass through here. The underground Tokyo Metro with itd mazelike paths hold a lot of wonderfuk shopping and food spots.
Within less than a kilometer radius from the station, you can actually waste a whole day visiting all the different restos, bistros, cafes, izakaya places, and the like. Right beside the station is a building with one of my most favorite beer craft place, iBrew.
Ginza is also a few meters away so if you love shopping (albeit expensive shops), Shimbashi is your train station.

Shinbashi station's location for the Toei Asakusa line is underneath, but also closer to the outside of the station once you get up the stairs. Yurikamome line - After getting around Shimbashi station, the Yurikamome section is separate and elevated. I do like it is more spacious and clean and feels newer.
