Nope. Standard completely free-falled. Came back here after a decent experience few months ago, but instantly regretted it. From the get go:

All (and at least four) 'nice' tables with chairs (instead of metal stools) marked as "reserved." No one else except for walk-ins came in. One staff reluctantly let us sit at a table marked "reserved." [Imho standard tactic to make sure the bare minimum is done, and so no one sits near their "staff hangout table" (where stock is kept, carton of mineral water bottles out in the open, personal belongings, etc). Chair was dirty. Cleaned it myself. No one helped. I was within eyesight of at least three staff members. The staff table: A place where they congregate and ignore the customers (we saw a couple sat outside, looking inside, frustrated...no one tended to them). Honestly, Chinese daichou, kopitiams and mamaks do this better, cleaner and friendlier.

Everything, except collecting the food from the kitchen, is DIY. (Including cutlery.) This would've been fine, if everything else made up for it. Again, mamaks and kopitiams do this better.

There's say a saying in F&B, if you want to know what the kitchen looks like, look at the toilets. We saw the sinks, it was enough. Black would around the sink holes, visible even in dim lighting.

Halfway into our meal, we found a strand of short, wavy black hair SEARED into the outer layer of our beef burrito. So grossed out by this, as we peeled it out and tossed it away, so no photos. We peeked through the kitchen window, true enough, kitchen staff with facial hair not wearing masks.

We left. Went to another place for dessert instead. The moment we stepped into this similarly priced establishment, we thought, THIS is service.

So, time's up, Thyme Out. Thanks for reminding us what types of businesses we won't be supporting...

Unfortunately, it's a no for this place. We arrived at an odd hour (3pm), place our orders at 3.11pm for only 2 items and the first item arrived at 3.48pm. The second arrived about 7-10 minutes after that. It would be understandable if it was busy but there were only 3-4 other tables occupied when we arrived.

The chicken burrito was very bland, flavourless, the rice seemed a tiny bit over cooked, and there was no beans (What is a burrito without beans!). Since the chicken was also very bland, the taste and flavour of it was difficult to differentiate from the rice. The burrito was also pan toasted after it was rolled, which, is fine but i don't think it is typical. 2/10. Would not recommend.

The fish fingers fared better. Crispy. Still on the blander side. A bit on the oilier side but that's a bit of a given thing since it is deep fried. Dory, i believe. So, fish flavour was barely existing. The sauce was disappointing. The texture resembled those cheap tar tar sauces you buy in bulk, where it is weirdly gelatinous, and the jalapeño used wasn't spicy. Well, the sauce itself wasn't spicy and only tasted of the sauce, unless you eat it specifically with the tiny bits of the jalapeño itself. Fish - 7.5/10

For those eco conscious: The fish fingers were served on disposable papers but those that cannot be recycled or composted as it is plastic lined. The sauce was also served in a broken/halfed single-use container. The container issue is a bit more troubling because it would seem that they cut off the lid and toss it away just so they could use the main body of the container. Also, it was jagged (see pictures) and...

Beef Tacos 🌮 by @thymeoutkl #bandarsunway #malaysia .

It’s not common to find Mexican food 🌮 in town, and here we found a great one. We are surprised by the how colorful Mexican food is. At Thyme Out , we were greeted with festival and colourful graffitis in their wall, that just lifted our mood.

So we ordered their Tacos 🌮! They have the choices of soft wheat or crunchy corn taco shells loaded with the filling of our choices, shredded cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo and spicy enchiladas sauce. We picked beef fillings 🥩 and crunchy corn 🌽 taco!! The size was quite big for one, about the size of our ✋ palm. It was freshly made, the crunchy was real...and the mixture of the fillings were in harmony 🤩. The sauce , beef , cheese and everything just blended in well... and we love it 😍!! That’s one awesome tacos 🌮!!! It’s a must to return for more meals in this place.

Have a Taco 🌮 weekend !!
