Since moving back to the inner city 8 years ago, I've literally watched it go from being empty, ugly, and derelict to the absolutely stunning city we currently have today. There's still work to be done but seeing the city bustling with people again, the shops being actual buildings instead of containers and just being reminded of how it once was, even if it no longer looks the same is freakin awesome! I personally love how it looks, but I'm aware that that's a rather unpopular opinion. I do live in one those 'nasty little boxes' by our stadium that is currently being built that those of us in these nasty little boxes are going to be horrified by the noise (words from a fellow human, not me lol 🙄) so maybe that's why I absolutely love the new look. And tbh, I'm not entirely sure what all these people thought it was going to look like because they behave as though it should've been rebuilt to look exactly the same! Talk about obtuse thinking! Anywho, my ADHD branched off just a tad 🤦♀️I LOVE The Crossing! It just looks like a wee alley way with a café and a few shops until you actually walk in there and discover it not only has 2 levels but multiple different Cafés and eateries, fashion shops, a nail salon, a supermarket and with a car parking building attached to it. I just love everything about the city right now and am so pleased I chose to move back here before anything was really rebuilt. It has made me incredibly grateful to live where I am the very unwell person that I am. So, to have a functioning city that has everything I need in one place that isn't a freakin mall, (I have Panic Disorder & debilitating social anxiety) is literally a dream come true for me because it has allowed me to keep my independence. And thus ends yet another 'rather personal novel reviews'...
Read moreGreat shopping mall full of everything you need. From a coffee break to shopping for your next outfit. A must go when visiting Christchurch. This is definitely an icon in this amazing city and shows that a city can rebuild. Great little stores inside with lots of parking in their multi story car parking palace some could say. Definitely would recommend when coming to Christchurch for shopping or socialising. There are all different performances outside by various amounts of people bringing amazing...
Read moreGreat architecture and nice to finally have somewhere in the city to go. There's a pretty good selection of shops and they're organised well. It's very handy to have the carpark rjght there and it's a good price. I like the layout and look forward to the empty spaces being filled up. The outside area is a bit bland and would benefit from either sitting areas, play area for children or shop overflow. At the moment it's used used as an alley way and that's a...
