I did 8 classes so far and one of them was the Trainee Instructor Training which is a free session. This is a 2 hour workout session + short introduction of the reformer and the pilates fundamentals. It is a great session for beginners but for experianced one as well as you are more focused on how to do the exercise rather than doing the classic workout. The instructors are great as they are pushing you to to your limits and they are always looking after you if your body is well positioned or you want to make it more challenging. After each session the body feeling is just amazing. I also took some classes at another studio to compare it and I will definitely return back to Studio Pilates for following resaons: 1. I can see the exercises on the 360degree screens; 2. The instructors are not shy to position my body when doing the exercise wrong - you have the feeling it’s an private session. 3. The equipment ( reformer, ring...) are new and in great conditions . Compared with another studio the reformer in studio pilates seems better quality and more robust + I had problems at the competitors studio as I am little bit taller, 174 cm, and I didn’t have this problems at Studio Pilates. 4. The team is flexible. Once I cancelled a session by mistake and I just called them to explain and they gave me the session back. Similiar thing happend at the competitors studio and they just smiled and said “that are the rules, sorry...” - so one payed session without exercise. Read moreI joined up with Studio Pilates in Takapuna 3 weeks ago I can not speak highly enough about the amazing class sessions and a beautiful vibrant studio, I am very impressed and completely addicted! I truly cannot see my life without these classes!!. The owner is lovely and all of the Pilates instructors are well experienced, incredibly friendly, and make each class fun with there bubbly personalities. This last year 2018 was a very stressful year for me, I had a stint in hospital with a terrible virus which almost killed me. My body was the weakest it had ever been, since then I have been nursing my health back to normal and prepping myself to begin Pilates wishing to build mental and physical strength, the sessions for me have been intense but only now after 3 weeks I can feel the difference, not only physically noticing the differences but the core of my being is feeling stable and stronger again. I feel strong enough to embark on the 30 day challenge now a couple of weeks away, I am so looking forward to this! Read moreI recently joined Studio Pilates Takapuna, availing of their 6 classes for $60 promo. My friend, who also recently turned 60 had encouraged me to do reformer pilates. I was quite anxious and worried at first since I'm not athletic at all and the only exercise I do is walk my dogs.
However, from the first day of orientation and then several classes after, I have loved every minute of my sessions! The trainers, especially Lisa, Mandy and Nikki are fabulous! They acknowledged my (age) concerns and motivated me during each session by checking on me several times and giving me words of encouragement when I do well and push myself to work harder. It's funny because I sometimes drag my feet when going to class, but after each one, I feel so happy that I went!
