Holy Shot Espresso — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

This review is overdue, for I was there in March, on a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon (sounds like a song!) but I have so loved that hour at Holy Shot, and had to join the praises here. Claudia and Shannon have the best brew, the freshest pastries and a joyful attention to every detail. The cafe' is refined and beautiful in its simplicity, from the hanging lights to the shape and colours of the crockery; from the wooden cabinetry, to the bricks on the walls and the plants: it all speak of class and clean, modern elegance. I loved how they made us feel welcome, the atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, busy but oh! so neat, in the beautiful service. And how yummy everything was, with choices to suit every taste, including my fussy Italian Mama! ( this is editing my long time review which was 5 stars review) Use to going to this place for years but I moved from the area few months back and lt happened I was in Takapuna yesterday so I popped in there for my usual BUT I was shocked when they all new stuff and apparently the business is sold as some stage which is fine and all ways happen but when I tried the new people coffee and the service it was the biggest shock,, it’s horrible coffee and below average customer service… very obvious that the new owners can afford buying the business but they are not proper Barista (horrible coffee that goes straight to the bin) and the customer service skills needs huge attention and the don’t even talk or smile to...

The iced matcha latte was perfectly balanced with a natural sweetness. They don’t add any sugar, and it really doesn’t need it. The flat white coffee was smooth and rich, and the staff were super friendly as always — even with some new faces in training. The service still feels warm and genuine, just like the place itself.
