NZONE Skydive Queenstown — Attraction in South Island

This was one of the best experiences I've ever participated in.

Not only was the skydiving itself an absolute blast, but I was very impressed by how Nzone operates their business.

From the moment I stepped into their Queenstown storefront, I could feel the quality and legitimacy of their operation. I cannot think of a business where this is more important than skydiving.

After checking in, we were weighed, then shown to a theater room for an initial walk through of the experience and some safety instruction.

We then hopped onto a 15 minute shuttle to the dropzone just outside of Queenstown. I was equally impressed by the quality of this facility.

In the waiting area, they have screens showing brief bios on the Nzone skydiving team. Notably, the bios included how many jumps each tandem master has completed.

The fact that the team has completed between 500 and 25,000 jumps PER PERSON made me feel very comfortable.

In addition, the waiting area looks into the parachute packing area where we could watch the packing happen. Another small but effective touch that makes customers feel safe.

Gearing up was easy, with a jumpsuit, helmet, and goggles. Lockers were provided for us to store our belongings.

After suiting up, we were given another safety training from a tandem master. It was very clear and easy to follow.

Before boarding the ~15 minute flight to altitude, our tandem masters (Damo and Ivan) greeted us personally, and we boarded the plane.

They made us feel comfortable the entire ride up, clearly communicating steps being taken to prepare for the jump while also getting hyped and having fun. Such good guys.

The jump itself was smooth, we just hopped out! This was, by far, the most adrenaline I've ever experienced. What an absolute rush. Words cannot describe the feeling, you simply have to do it.

After deploying the parachute, we chatted and enjoyed the view the way down. They continued to communicate clearly during the descent through to the landing.

After changing out of our gear, we were free to hop on the shuttle back into Queenstown.

This review would not be complete without a comment about the media package. You have the option to capture your entire experience on video for an extra fee.

Your tandem master will have a GoPro attached to their wrist and will film everything including a pre-flight interview, the flight up, the jump down to the landing, and a post-jump interview.

The GoPro footage is high quality, and the tandem masters know how to shoot good content (as opposed to just waving the camera around). This resulted in a high quality output.

The footage of your experience is then edited into a long form video and short form social media-ready video, and sent to you via an email link. This was turned around in about 2 hours. Another professional touch that speaks to quality of the operation.

Of course it's fun to have a video of your jump, but I recommend purchasing the media package for another reason: the experience of jumping out of a plane was so intense that I blacked out a little bit. Not a literal black out while it was happening, but it was so overwhelming that my memory of the jump and free fall wasn't that clear.

Having the video footage helped me process the experience and remember what it was like and how fun it was.

Well done Nzone. Extremely polished/professional experience, and most importantly, so much fun!...

You have to do it to describe it. It was on my bucket list since I was a kid and Nzone delivered and how!

Entry : they are super friendly and helpful, the instructions are given in a fun and easy to understand way. BANANA pose, keeping the "smile" and 3 taps plus the landing are very essential aspects so ask away if you have a doubt.

Drop zone : you're taken in a bus to the drop zone where the actual sky diving happens, i had selected the 12k feet one but they convinced me to do the 15k one as it's the highest one, the free fall lasts a good minute and you won't be doing it again for atleast a good stretch of time so why not go for the top one. I also went for the video and photo option as it was a memory I'll cherish forever (costs 200 nzd more).

You're given batches and accordingly given numbers. The amazing people at nzone make you comfortable and pumped up at same time which was a good driving force for me.

The instructions are given by a trained professional and it's very to the point and easy to understand

Your dive guide and instructors are who you trust and listen to and just let yourself in their more than capable hands. TIBI was my diving instructor and he is the best! Salute to the work that you do man! Loved every second of it.

The experience can't be described in words so I'll leave that.

Paragliding is subsequent and that's when you'll be able to express the sheer fun and exhilaration that you experienced. This is the most fun and most relaxing part.

AFTER Landing : you'll be at the edge of your senses as you just jumped from a plane at 15k feet and landed on your bum all safe and sound so take time to re orient and have some snacks and water. Give a pat to yourself as it was a great feat that has been achieved. Might get headaches later on but that's just your body compensating the shock and awe.

I would definitely to it again with my kid if things permit.

A Leap of Faith and a Lifetime of Memories

The staff were professional, friendly, and incredibly passionate about skydiving. They answered all my questions and made sure I felt completely comfortable and confident before taking the leap.

The jump itself was exhilarating! As we ascended in the plane, my nerves started to tingle. But once we reached the jump altitude, all my fear disappeared. The view from above was breathtaking - endless blue skies, fluffy white clouds, and the stunning landscape stretching out below. Then, the door opened, and the adrenaline started pumping. Before I knew it, I was falling through the air, feeling the wind whipping through my beard and the sun warming my face. It was pure freedom!

My tandem instructor, Ivan was amazing. He kept me calm and focused, and even managed to crack a few jokes to ease my anxiety. He made sure I enjoyed every second of the freefall and helped me capture the incredible 360-degree views.

Then came the parachute opening. The sudden change from freefall to gliding was a surreal experience. It was like floating on a cloud, with the world gently passing by beneath me. I had plenty of time to soak up the scenery and take in the beauty of the moment.

Landing back on solid ground, I was filled with a mixture of emotions - exhilaration, excitement, and a sense of accomplishment. I couldn't stop smiling, and I knew this was an experience I would never forget.
