A must do! If you can afford the unlimited rides, go for it! For first timers, they have a separate queue, but the line is pretty quick. They teach you how to move and slow down. Then you are good to go. I was personally scared of going fast in the beginning, but the second and third try we were zooming. Sadly, we only bought for 3 rides, but it was fun! So from the Skyline, you have to go down a fair bit. Pick your helmet and join the queue to ride the chair lift to the top. Line up and they will scan your qr code. They will give you stamp on your first try, so they know you can just go through without a guide after. For children 150cms below, they need to ride with an adult. If you have a bag or a backpack, nothing to worry about as you can wear it. I had a shoulder bag, and I just put it between my legs - there's enough space. So I didn't see the need to put my stuff in the rental lockers. There's two tracks only. Also, you can go there in the late afternoon, so you can see the sunset and the night lights through the luge. Going back to the skyline gondola is a pain though, as you have to walk up. Not easy for elderly people. I'm not sure if they have another way for people with disabilities. Photos - unfortunately you have to pay separately, and they cost a lot, $16 for a digital copy! I read somewhere that they have Gopro attachments on the helmet but didn't see any, so I wasn't able to use mine. Try to use a body attachment or a wrist one. But didn't see anyone doing it. Saw most parents or grandparents taking photos or videos from the picnic areas....

My 7yo was unable to easily control his luge- it was either go or stop, I don’t think he had enough strength to control it to just break/slow down. He ended up getting stuck on the bank at 2 corners the first time round, then he grazed his elbow on a diff corner the second time round. He was also over 120cm tall so unable to ride tandem with me.
Also no one told us the difference between the two routes. I only found out later online that he had gone down the more difficult green track which was suppose to be for people over 135cm. This was actually on the 100% pure nz website, not even on the skyline luge website, which I had browsed before visiting, to check height restrictions.
The chairlift is also a bit of a challenge the first time round, especially if you have young kids with you. The chair is too high for them, so you have to lift them up. Would’ve been nice having someone tell you that before the chair almost knocked my kid over, as it doesn’t slow down! It’s fine once you get the hang of it, but the first time is a big rough.
Right now, they’re doing renovations/expansion which means a very long walk (with stairs and hills) over to the luge area. The lines are crazy (they do warn you about this), but it’s made especially bad if it’s a hot sunny day. Thankfully they sell water at the start of the track.
Overall, it can be tons of fun. The views are amazing!! Would be made better with

It's an activity that's suitable for both thrill-seekers and families, making it a perfect choice for a wide range of visitors.
One aspect that made the experience even more enjoyable was the staff. They were not only professional but also genuinely friendly and helpful. They made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe, and their warm hospitality added to the overall positive impression.
