Leaving this review because the customer service is extremely slow, and i have no other ways of contacting the shop that will actually get some serious attention from them.
Purchased a film camera and a roll of film 25/11/2024 as a birthday present. The camera arrived on 28/11/2024. I bought the battery, put the film in, and it did not work, so I did some research before i contacted the shop, and found out that it might be a mechanical problem.
According to their website, the best way to contact is to message them on Instagram. I sent the instagram message on 29/11/2024, they didn’t reply until 2/12/2024. We agreed on me shipping it back to the shop for them to have a look, but I couldn’t ship it straight away because they took forever again to confirm the address and the coverage for shipping fee with me.
With all the poor communication, I finally got to ship it on 8/12/2024 from Wellington, which should take maximum 2 working days for them to receive. I messaged them about my shipment, and i wrote my order number on the parcel just to make it easier for the staff. Of course once again, they took 10 days to reply to me, just to tell me that they had received it and would be looking at it within the next couple of days.
I have been extremely patient with them during the whole process. Birthday present received broken? That’s okay, maybe i can still have it back before Christmas! No, I messaged them again asking for updates on the 19 Dec, no response, fine maybe they on holiday.
I waited for them to come back from holiday, this time I emailed them on the 7/01/2025, no response for another week. I called the shop on 14/01/2025, the guy who answered the phone said my email went to spam folder but he will look at it today.
And NOW, another week has passed, and I haven’t heard anything from them. No response at all, I cant even get my refund because apparently they dont care about their customers. During the whole time, the instagram page has been actively updated, I dont know how many people is taking care of their account, or if anyone actually checks the emails. It has been 2 month since I placed the order, It is not acceptable that I got zero updates on a faulty product....
Read moreThe shop itself is cool, with lots of vintage cameras to look at. But their service and attitude is very poor. Contacted them about a recent purchase of Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens, which i found produced photos that were soft, hazy/ foggy (very different from sample photos online) I took photos to prove my point to which the guy said he sees nothing wrong with, had to go into the shop, the guy took a few photos with my camera and the lens, he had all the excuses claiming he cannot tell what was wrong. So i said i will post it in the review for people to judge themselves, a 9/10 condition lens as stated on the listing. It's not till this point that he agreed i could swap it out for something else, but continued to be very unhelpful, luckily i knew what they had in stock, because he didn't know...even had to return to the shop once more after i left because he did not know the camera came with a case and manual as mentioned on their website. Save yourself time and money by purchasing from other shops with second hand/ refurbished camera gears that gives the buyers more protection and quality guarantees. You can also find good deals on Trademe or Ebay, with easy returns. To the guy in the shop, yes you can compare Sigma lenses to Canon ones, i own other Sigma lens that produced clear photos , and have purchased cheaper second hand canon lenses than the sigma i bought from your shop and had no issues shooting with them (Images attached).
Edit: I’ve tested every option, with high ISO too and the results is still hazy, the whole reason why people would buy a lens with low f/stop is so they can use it in low light without setting the ISO too high as it would go grainy. funny how they just don’t admit it and the the guy told me he doesn’t really know how to use digital camera when we were testing it out in the shop. I know how to use my cameras thank you very much, you should perhaps learn how to distinguish between a clear photo and a soft one and more on digital cameras. They sell faulty cameras, don't reply to emails for weeks, and try to gaslight customers. Zero I bought a camera here. I bought a faulty camera and they used the same M.O. ‘We ran film it works as normal, must be film or user problem.’ Camera store that developed my photos said its the cameras. Pure con artist……..
And will probably lie and say something that i was abusive. When infact they were.

Junktion (owner) 3 months ago Hey Abby, thanks for your concerns. As you are aware you shipped your camera back for us to inspected it for any faults as you received a blank roll.
We ran a roll of film through the camera ourselves and found the camera to be functioning perfectly.
The problem was due to either poor development or user error. As you live in Australia you did not want us to ship the camera back to you due to the costs. We issued you a full refund on the camera despite it working as it should.
Their con is its the film or user issues. When in reality their selling you cameras with no professional technicians. Then make you feel its your fault.
