Mandarin Island Hotel — Hotel in Malay

We were traveling as a couple with our one year old baby. The service we got from the staff was outstanding, and they really went above and beyond to make sure we had whatever we needed to make our stay and our baby comfortable. Would love to stay here again. Definitely highly recommended.

Pros: -Booking the private transfer add-on is one of the best things you can do for your family if you're traveling with kids. You will skip the long/hot walks and the long lines at the jetty port, get a speedboat transfer, and have all the help you need with your luggage. Cost is per head and very reasonable. -Location is ideal if you want to be near enough all the good restaurants, cafes, bars, and stores. -Quality of life conveniences like drinking water provided in the room and could be replenished anytime, beach mats and towels that could be borrowed, etc. -Very thoughtful brand of service. They would provide anything we needed for our baby if they had it, such as a baby bath tub and bug zapper. One of the things we noticed was they had set the TV on default to a kids channel because they knew we were traveling with a baby. -Special mention to our check-in/check-out process & concessions. -Breakfast selection has good variety and tastes good enough.

Cons: -The live band can and will be heard from the rooms, even if we requested the furthest room possible. They play well into the night until 11pm or so. I don't know if this would be a bother to young kids, but it was a bother to us more than to our baby. Although this is part and parcel of a lot of major resorts in Boracay. -Some questionable design choices for the room such as tiny trash bins, a room lock that beeps/alarms within just a few seconds of opening the door, and a shower door that leaks into the bathroom floor. -Pool is made with very small tiles and a lot of them have gone missing. Could be a potential cause for cuts/injury when feet have gone wrinkly from swimming. -Suggestion: Add more places where we can hang our...

We stayed at Mandarin Island Hotel last September 17, 2025, and it was truly the best time ever!||From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The arrival experience was amazing—friendly staff welcomed us with refreshing drinks and hot towels. One of their leaders, Israel, personally greeted us and made us feel right at home with his warm hospitality.||It was my birthday during our stay, and I was deeply touched by the surprises prepared. When I entered our room, there was a sweet birthday treat waiting. Later that evening, after stepping out with my partner, we returned to find an even bigger surprise—a beautifully decorated room filled with thoughtful details. I never expected such a wonderful gesture, and it made my birthday truly unforgettable.||I also had the pleasure of meeting Hotel Manager, Marlon, who was very down-to-earth and approachable. It’s clear that with his leadership, the entire team works with passion and excellence.||The food was sumptuous—and coming from Pampanga, where our taste buds are used to rich and flavorful cuisine, I can say that Mandarin Island Boracay truly delivered! The food attendants were attentive, proactive, and always served with a smile. Even the pool attendant impressed us, always keeping an eye as we headed to the beach and assisting us whenever needed.||Everything was beyond amazing—the staff, the leaders, the service, the food, the thoughtful surprises. We arrived at the airport on Monday morning, and the hotel van was waiting for us. Overall very efficient service, and would recommend paying the little extra to have the airport pickup. They take care of all fees, you don’t need to haggle and search for drives. We had the drive to the bay, where a hotel boat picked us up and took us to the island, where another hotel van was waiting. This was door to door service. The staff were top notch the entire way. The same was true for the return trip back as well. Now at the Hotel, we were greeted by even more incredibly friendly staff, with cool wet clothes, and a very delicious pineapple drink. Even though we were early, they let us store our luggage on sight while we walked around the beautiful white powder sand beach. Check in was at 2pm, we arrived around 930. We were early to say the least. We decided to take a snooze on the beach and received a call at 11 saying the room was ready! Excellent! They brought our luggage up to the room and gave us a tour. The room had one of the best beach views in the building. Besides the Uber expensive rooms of course. We had a top floor with two balconies. The views and atmosphere were excellent. There is live music through the day and night. These guys (and gals) are very talented! You know they are good when you have people singing along!

Would I go back to this place? YES I would, but I would want the same room if possible. Would I recommend this place? Most definitely. It has the prefect sights, you are right in the middle of station 2, close to restaurants...
