On our second day in bora, me and my two "big" friends tried the spice. Tricky location and limited space but we managed to get a spot. For entree' we've had the crispy chicken skin, it was indeed crispy. It was also less greasy somehow spared us from our constricting arteries' weariness. Flavour? Found it bland, a little bit of a salt could have hit our palate. The sauces ( in jars) saved this dish. We also gave the falafel a try which is pretty average, probably coz we've tried lebanese falafel for many times in Auckland from our leb colleagues. The best part of our entree' is the chicken wings for one reason- super tender the mest falls off the bone, average flavour but then again, the sauces saved this dish. For our main, two of us ordered the pork belly and the other guy had the tuna. Pork was a little bit underdone, rice lacking flavour, im not sure if they've used sapron or anato but we couldn't taste we any. The tuna was overcooked. Cassava chips dry and lacking flavour, should have added salt at least. The salad on the side which is a tiny portion is the messiah on that plate. Sensing our frustrations, we only opted for the sundae for dessert, it was smooth that melts in the mouth with perfectly balanced sweetness and flavour, reminded us of the our sundae cone in new zealand. Overall, I find our meals to be pretty average, requiring at least 10km jog afterwards because.of the fats and grease. Oh and we highly recommend the mango shake with mint and their calamansi with stawberry flavour - these.drinks are.10/10, and the only healthy options you can have in Spicebird. Staffs are very friendly and.accomodating, speed was never an issue. A quick reminder: reviews are not reliant at all, you have to try it yourself, as a golden rule, different people.have different taste buds aided by food encounter in the past....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went there twice this month. First was with my sisters and after a week I went back to treat my mom. Food was great but the service was not good! š So disappointing! server Jennlyn was so rude, always frowning when you call, very unfriendly and it seems like sheās not happy with her job as a waitress! Sheās not attentive at all. I asked for a glass of ice but it didnāt come, so I asked again the other server which is very opposite of her sheās very friendly, good service and attentive. Then when I asked for bill out, Jennlyn gave the bill jacket rudely and just left, so I put my credit card inside the bill jacket and ask her back, when she opens the bill jacket she said terminal machine for credit card doesnāt have a signal! I asked are you sure about that? Let me see your credit card machine and try it in front of me, and so she lied! the credit card works very well!! I told her you handed me a piece of scratch paper where you only wrote out our bill as if Iāve eaten in a fast food carinderia stall somewhere where there is no proper POS machine printed out! š which is very surprising for a restaurant like this. Anyway, wish that server will get a lesson from this review. Btw, the reason she told me why sheās very rude is because the restaurant is very busy and itās only 2 of them serving, thatās why I told her you have the right to be rude? Itās because youāre busy and forgetful??? All the more I get...

Been going to paluto places and I kept on getting disappointed that is until I tried this winner and a gem -- Spicebird. But it's just chicken, you say. After a day of briny heat and cloying stickiness, there's something about grilled food that just tickles the tastebuds. And no, this is not your usual grilled chicken. You are getting chicken so juicy, so well-seasoned with a piri-piri dip that rivals a Manila restaurant. Needless to say, I was just so famished that I forgot to take a photo of their piri-piri chicken meal. So satisfying I dispensed with all dignities and started going at it until all that's left are bones. BUT ALSO, ALSO THE DESSERT. Probably no one bothers to check out their dessert menu after having their fill of chicken. With Iceflakes and Aria Gelato nearby, dessert is calling somewhere else. Wait a hot minute there. Just check out their Double Happiness. Chocolate ice cream drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt. What sorcery is this? If I wanted someone to fall in love in me, I'd make them eat this concoction. It's ice cream with a flavor profile of a complex chocolate cake that just makes me want to dream of better days ahead. And rightly so, I finally found a place worth coming back to here in Boracay. Spicebird, thank you for...
