I went to spend the New Year's this year in Boracay and opted for the first available hotel I can grab because it's high peak season - in spite the bad weather.||I was booked in this hotel. I paid my reservation in full, and I was excited to hear from the booking officer that it was a beachfront Hotel. When I arrived in Boracay, it was hard to find - for a beachfront hotel. Nobody knew where this was - I had to Google it and looked for it on the map. When I found it, it was not beachfront. It was behind some shops through a narrow walkway. It was seconds away from the beach, yes, but did I miss understanding what Beachfront meant?||That's a minor thing. ||I didn't mind having to wait for my room because I arrived 4 hours early for check-in. When the room was ready, it was a very average looking room - the fridge was unplugged and turned sideways. The water supply was weak except for the bidet - haha. And there was no heater.||Okay - I said, I came to the party and not for the room.||So I partied. I was directed to the shop on the beachfront to buy the coffee. I was beginning to get irritated, not only because of that but because I'd have to run down to the front desk to ask because there were no phones in-room.||I will not even mention the tattered towels that were in my room. I'm not too picky on that.||The good thing about this hotel though is that it was right smack in the middle of everything - ATMs, Dmall, Epic and Real Coffee. I'd give the location a thumbs up. ||As for the overall experience - let's just say - I'm not coming back to this one and be more prepared to book ahead for the New...

Read moreOur group of friends decided to spend a couple of nights in Boracay. We settled at this place because it offered a Family room which all of us could squeeze in effectively saving a few pesos.||||The advantages of staying at Villa Simprosa are many. Aside from the comparatively lower rates, it's just 20 or so meters to the beach. The place is also just a stone's throw away from restaurants, convenience stores and bars.
