Nestled amidst the bustling streets of the city lies the enchanting Plazoleta de Los Zócalos. This hidden gem is a delightful surprise for anyone seeking respite from the urban chaos. I stumbled upon this quaint plaza while exploring the vibrant neighborhoods of the city, and I couldn't be more pleased with what I found.

The Plazoleta de Los Zócalos boasts a perfect blend of history, culture, and tranquility. The intricate cobblestone pathways lead you through a charming array of colonial-era buildings adorned with colorful facades. It's like stepping back in time to a bygone era, yet with all the modern comforts at hand.

One of the highlights of my visit was the lively atmosphere that permeates the plaza. Local artisans showcase their craft, offering a variety of handmade goods that make for unique souvenirs. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air, inviting you to savor a cup at one of the cozy cafes lining the plaza.

But perhaps what captivated me the most was the sense of community that thrives here. Families gather on the benches, children play joyfully in the open space, and musicians serenade visitors with soulful melodies. It's a testament to the rich cultural tapestry of the city, where people from all walks of life come together to celebrate life's simple pleasures.

Whether you're a history buff, a culture enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Plazoleta de Los Zócalos has something to offer everyone. It's a place where time seems to slow down, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the beauty of the moment. Don't miss the chance to experience this hidden oasis in the heart...

The charming Plazoleta de Los Zócalos in Guatapé is surrounded by tempting places to eat, drink, and indulge your sweet tooth. You can't help but stop in at one of the coffee shops, bars, or dessert spots flanking the plaza—even if just to try the legendary cinnamon rolls at Zocarolls panadería.

Zocarolls' tradicional Colombian pan de bono, a sweet cheese bread, is mouthwatering, but their giant cinnamon rolls dripping with icing are the main attraction. Grab one to go or enjoy on their bright patio overlooking the plaza.

Other options include Café Zócalo, which serves caffeine along with cocktails and snacks, and the atmospheric Casa 20, a cervecería with outdoor seating, pub fare, and a range of beers. Those with a sweet tooth can head to Heladería Bonanzas for decadent ice cream in flavors like maracuyá cheesecake or Oreo chocolate chunk.

Between the plaza's zócalos, the colonial architecture, and the culinary temptations, it's easy to while away an afternoon exploring the offerings around Plazoleta de Los Zócalos. Stop by for a taste of local life in Guatapé, colored by the food, drink, and tradition on offer in this picturesque...

A must see picturesque town. Over an hour away from Medellin, we strategically stayed three nights here and it was a huge highlight of our trip. We rented a cabin 14 minutes away and each day we came to the town to eat.

Day trips are offered regularly but I recommend staying here a few nights because group yours are rushed and there is so much to see. Every day we discovered a new street, new wall art, new coffee shops and restaurants. Lots of souvenirs for purchase, and overall friendly vibes. The Tuk Tuk’s are the main form of transportation, just ask what the average cost to your destination is so you don’t get over charged as most tourists do. Don’t forget to visit la...
