From the moment I walked into Chocolatería San Ginés in Lisbon, I knew I was in for something special, but I never imagined it would be this incredible. This was my very first time visiting this store, and now I can confidently say it will not be my last – I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

The highlight of my visit was Hellen, who completely transformed this into an unforgettable experience. From the start, she greeted me with the warmest smile and immediately made me feel welcome. She took the time to explain everything about the unique qualities that make their chocolates so special.

She carefully explained the different options, explaining the flavours, textures. I had no idea there were so many incredible varieties! Her recommendations were spot-on – she suggested the best selections to match my taste preferences, and honestly, every single one was a masterpiece. The balance of sweetness, richness, and quality was beyond anything I’ve ever tried before.

Thanks to Hellen, I didn’t just buy chocolates – I experienced them. She made it personal, exciting, and fun. You can tell she genuinely cares about creating the perfect experience for every customer. That level of service is so rare, and it deserves to be recognized.

🧐 Siendo sincero, no puedo darle tanta nota como me gustaría...

🥨 Vivo en Lisboa desde hace más de 5 años y cada vez que voy a Madrid, la Chocolatería San Ginés es una de mis primeras paradas.

☕ El día que me enteré de que había abierto esta cafetería, fui sin pensarlo. Tengo que decir que el lugar es pequeño, pero muy acogedor e incluso tienen un precioso rooftop (no anexo a la cafetería).

🗣️ Me pareció curioso que, al menos cuando yo fui, no hubiera ningún trabajador en el mostrador que hablará portugués, únicamente español e inglés. Si bien esto no es razón para una mala experiencia, me parece remarcable.

🥘 El menú es muy variado, tanto de comidas como de bebidas, con indicaciones sobre los alérgenos. Buenísimas opciones de paellas, adaptadas incluso a preferencias alimentarias veganas. Y el punto de la cerveza San Miguel 🔝 Debido a esta variedad, el lugar funciona para desayunos, brunch, almuerzo, meriendas, cenas o simplemente unas cervezas 👌🏼

💔 No obstante me entristeció ver que las ofertas de Porras por raciones, como en Madrid, no existen aquí y, sinceramente, en términos de calidad-precio, creo que solo compensa si quieres pedirte los churros finos, no las porras que se hacen en una rueda. Por decirlo de alguna forma, creo que la forma de ofrecer los Churros y las Porras está muy "aportuguesada", y no guarda la esencia española. Quiero decir, solo puede pasar fuera de España que te ofrezcan AZÚCAR y CANELA con las Porras, como si fueran un Pastel de Nata 🙈 No dudo de su buena intención, pero tampoco deja de sorprenderme que la forma de "exportar" la cultura sea esta 😕

💸 He leído algunas reseñas de turistas que hablan de precios competitivos. Como local, no lo considero nada así, sino que los precios están inflados para los turistas. En términos de comidas puede pasar el listón. Sin embargo, las bebidas tienen precios realmente elevados, incluso en los combos con los Churros y Porras.

🎶 Eso sí, la música me encantó, desde Flamenco hasta las nuevas de Lola Indigo, pasando por canciones de Camela, Samuraï, La La Love You, Pastora Soler e incluso "Nochentera". Fue una de las cosas que me hicieron querer quedarme más tiempo allí 😁

🚽 Los baños estaban impecables. Eso sí, para evitar el ruido, un poco de aceite a las puertas les vendría fenomenal.

Como último punto decir que yo pedí Porras y, si bien no me supieron como las Porras que pido en la Chocolatería San Ginés de Madrid, tuvieron un detalle muy bonito conmigo: tardaron un poco de tiempo en traérmelas y, por esta razón, me pusieron una Porra de más, cosa que...
