These are the best ice creams I have ever had in my life. I'm a seasoned traveler and have been to Italy many times. Many years ago, I was in Florence. And I was directed, as a special favor, to an ice cream shop where only locals went. I managed to get there with some difficulty, at that time we didn't have Google Maps :). And indeed, only Italians were there, a huge line of people. An incredible ice cream that I never forgot. Well, these are exactly like the ice creams from the gelateria I described before, if not better. Fresh flavors with authentic fruits and ingredients. No artificial flavors! The only problem is that they are addictive ice creams and, as a resident, I frequent La Gelataria quite often. I shouldn't say this because in the summer we residents have very little space. But, what is good must be shared! I suggest the black cherry ice cream, undoubtedly the best ice cream in the world, in my opinion. Cheers!

According to our free walking tour guide from "Get to Know Punta Delgado on Foot", this is the best Gelato ice cream in the Azores. We came back after the tour to follow her guidance and could not be more pleased! OMG, this gelato is incredible. Best I have had outside of Italy. They offer a good range of flavors. The quality, taste, and texture are fantastic. Such creamy deliciousness at very affordable pricing! I think this coffee gelato is the best I have ever had. If you are on Sao Miguel island you really must stop by for a fantastic treat!

The place is quite cute and features some nice local artwork for sale. Whenever I’m on holiday I like to find a place that serves a good espresso and this place served one of the best ones on the island. But obviously the reason why one would come here are the gelatos. We actually came here twice during our stay in Ponta Delgada and tried several flavors. The simple local fruit-based ones were the best, but it’s not to say that the more elaborate ones were not amazing. Definitely worth taking to stop for a desert here!

It's easy to see a review saying that this is the best ice cream someone has ever eaten and dismiss it. However, this is that one time that such claim might actually prove to be right in the form of the viennese chocolate flavour. It is phenomenal. Besides the obvious upside of having amazing ice cream though, the prices are good and the coffee is excellent, so it's practically impossible to go wrong with this one. 6/5

I have eaten gelato all around the world and this is the BEST I’ve ever had! It is decadent and made with natural ingredients, so don’t expect artificial colors or flavors. Pistachio, hazelnut and salted chocolate were my favorite flavors, but you can’t go wrong. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and patient while we selected what we wanted. I may return to Sao Migel just for this gelato. Seriously.

Truly delicious REAL icecream! We tried the chocolate with salt and the coffee icecream and we were both blown away by the extremely creamy texture. Add to that a perfectly balanced taste and you’ve got yourself a sunshine moment even on a moody day. Not to be missed while in Ponta Delgada! So sorry we only went there once… now we know where to stop when we’re in the Azores next time.
