Lago Artes by Hugo do Lago — Attraction in Porto

One of the best ‘must do’ experience when in Porto. I met this couple last year for the first time, and loved my painting experience so much, that I booked another holiday to Porto this year, with two days of painting with Hugo do Lago.

The ‘Paint & Port wine’ experience is amazing with a selection of locally made finger food, and selection of Port wines. However, also loved the Watercolour guided painting session, as it helped me to get over my fear of not controlling the paint medium. :)

Highly recommend this experience for amy skill level. Hugo is amazing at patiently guiding through the process, and Silvia adds the charm to the experience, sharing their life stories. I’ve come back with great pieces of art that I’m happy and proud to hang up as a memory from my trip...

My family of four visited Porto from the United States. We had known for a while that we wanted to take an art class as a family, and we're so happy we ended up choosing a water color painting class with Hugo.

There really are no words to adequately describe how wonderful of an experience it was for all four of us. Our kids are 8 years old and not much can hold their attention for long, but they were captivated from the first moment and both of them absolutely loved the entire experience, as did me and my wife.

Hugo and his wife Silvia could not have been more inviting, patient and kind. If we are ever back in Porto, we will be sure to stop by and visit our new friends. We can't recommend Lago Artes by Hugo do Lago highly...

I took the watercolor class and it was such a fantastic experience!! Hugo is a terrific host and teacher. The studio is on a crooked little street just behind the cathedral and it is filled with gorgeous little paintings of the city. I had been wanting to try something artistic but was totally intimidated. Hugo made this as easy as could be with a pre-(lightly) sketched scene of the Ponte Luis. He will teach you how to mix the colors and pick out which shades are present in the photo. It was the perfect mix of guidance so you don’t get lost, but you also feel as though it’s your own creation at the end. As far as souvenirs go, this is the best one I’ve ever had.
