Basically really well-known somehow, has a bunch of kid parks, and not too much trash lying around. There are some statues, and memorials, although no one there bothers to look, really. Three-or-four playgrounds, a graffiti plaque for legal spraying (somewhere near the Brezoianu entrance), and a sort of rock mountain where it's recommended to go and chill sometime. Luckily, if you visit, it won't be crowded - it's crowded in the weekend. It's okay to step on the grass and/or to sit/lay on it - in fact, when it's sunny weather it's great. Walking your dog won't be a problem, without the leash won't - bigger breeds, though, need to be leashed, and in worst cases, muffled.gasp In Bucharest, you shouldn't use the public bathrooms because of their ominous smell, but, hey, you do you. Don't climb trees if you don't want the guards to pick on you. Smoke anywhere, just not in playgrounds, if you also don't want the guards to pick on you. Good food, especially at Biblioteca, a restaurant somewhere to the right of the swan n duck lake. The shops aren't so good, but at least the ice cream is. Boat rides on the actual lake are cheap and there's usually friendly company. Usually. Nicest...
Read moreIt's the oldest garden in Bucharest. It's quite large and it is not crowded. On the positive side, it's very green, it has very a variety of very old trees. On the lake you can see wild ducks. On the negative side, from spring to late autumn, in the mornings and in the evenings, there are too many crows in the park and the alleys are filled with their droppings. And the alleys smell very bad, constantly, because of the droppings. It's a horrific smell. In the evenings the crows make a very loud noise which is very annoying. In conclusion, for a foreiger, it's worth visiting, there are lots of things to see here and it's very relaxing. In the summer there are boats you can rent and in the winter there is a skating rink on the lake. There are areas where you can lay a blanket on the grass and have a picnic, during the day when the...
Read moreAn extremely beautiful, romantic regal and artistic park, close to the National Bucharest Conservatory University (where free classical concerts, recitals or plays occasionally occur from the students). Full of gorgeous trees and flowers, along with a collection of various species of free roaming birds, with well maintained grounds, benches, paths and statues, as well as with two main restaurants and various other eateries scattered about. Many outdoor cultural performances take place here for national holidays, both official and non. Been here countless times both during the day and more so late at night, it's patrolled and safe as any park can hope to be at night. A gem, close to both the old city center, other restaurants, shops, appartments and transportation in both the ratb and...
