Nestled against the backdrop of our breathtaking Table Mountain and magnificent sea views, the Oranjezicht Farmers Market is a culinary haven that delights the taste buds. The market's abundance of diverse food stalls caters to every palate, with a noteworthy highlight being the inclusion of excellent vegan options. From tantalizing street food to gourmet treats, the variety is impressive, and pet owners will find it heartening that their fur babies can join in the outing. A standout mention goes to Vadas for their divine Pasteis de Nata, a delightful Portuguese custard tart. One of so many treats to choose from! The vibrant colors of the organic fruits and vegetables are mirrored in the market's friendly atmosphere, making it an inviting place for pets and their owners alike. Olive oil is available on tap, so remember to take along your bottle. Amidst the gastronomic delights, the market also boasts a variety of beautiful flowers, including the most magnificent dahlias. The vibrant hues and fragrances add an extra touch of magic to the overall experience. Beyond food and flowers, the Oranjezicht Farmers Market surprises with a range of interesting clothing stalls, showcasing local crafts, creating an opportunity to indulge in a bit of retail therapy. One of the market's most notable features is the communal spirit fostered by long tables, strategically placed for visitors and their pets to sit down and enjoy their purchases from different stalls together. Convenience is key at this market, with ample parking facilities making the experience stress-free. And of course, don your most comfortable flat shoes, as the uneven floor is a small trade-off for the charm of this pet-friendly venue. In summary, the Oranjezicht Farmers Market is a five-star destination, seamlessly blending culinary delights, fresh produce, beautiful blooms, local crafts, and a pet-friendly atmosphere. It's a perfect outing for food lovers, families, and anyone seeking a taste of the vibrant Cape Town lifestyle. Don't miss the chance to explore this treasure trove of flavors and experiences.

One of my favourite places to visit... Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain, the Oranjezicht City Farm Market embodies the vibrant spirit of Cape Town's culinary scene. Set against a backdrop of lush greenery and breathtaking views, this bustling market offers an authentic taste of local flavors and community charm. As you wander through the market stalls, your senses are tantalized by the sights, sounds, and smells of fresh produce, artisanal crafts, and delectable treats. From organic fruits and vegetables to gourmet cheeses and homemade baked goods, there's something to satisfy every palate. Indulge in a leisurely breakfast or brunch at one of the market's charming eateries, where farm-to-table fare takes center stage. Savor a steaming cup of locally roasted coffee as you soak in the vibrant atmosphere and mingle with locals and visitors alike. Beyond the culinary delights, the Oranjezicht City Farm Market is a hub of community activity, offering live music performances, cooking demonstrations, and educational workshops. It's a place where people come together to celebrate the beauty of food, culture, and sustainability. For tourists seeking an authentic Cape Town experience, a visit to the Oranjezicht City Farm Market is a must. Whether you're exploring the market for fresh ingredients, seeking unique souvenirs, or simply soaking in the lively ambiance, this charming oasis in the heart of the city promises to leave a lasting impression.

Some folks don't pay attention to ensuring their dogs are behaved as not all people are dog people. Makes walking through the small passages very uncomfortable and awkward with the little space to make my way back to my kids and shield them from the dogs that don't listen while worming in between people standing at tables on either side and chatting dog people in the middle of it all. A mess. That part. Otherwise was a lovely Sunday trip. It was a totally better experience on Saturday even though that's supposed to be the busiest day. Appreciated the storm approaching warning when the market was closing so we all make it home on time. Lots of fresh produce available as well as baked goods and other unique items for sale. From tshirts to cutlery to crockery to plants. There's plenty to keep you busy plus sanitizing stations all through the market. Temperatures are taken when coming in as well. There's "free" parking outside but the undercover parking is highly convenient because it's closer and out of the rain.

This is a lovely market with fresh produce (which is organic), lots of delicious pantry goodies, and amazing foods to eat there and then. Various breakfasts from eggs Benedict to galettes to fruit and muesli; a range of all meat to pork-free to vegan is available, as well as plenty for the sweet-tooth. Prices are average for Cape Town (read: a little on the costly side). Many places accept cash or SnapScan only, so be sure to bring one or the other. Parking at Granger Bay is cheap enough and safe. Theoretically wheelchair accessible, but I suspect it would be difficult to navigate on the wood chips. Nice even in cold and wet weather, just dress for the weather. Seating is always hard to find, be prepared to share with people you don’t know from Adam - but this doesn’t really detract from the experience if you come with the right attitude.
