During our time in Seoul, we visited a fast-food chain in the Myeongdong area called Ssada Gimbab, and I absolutely loved it! I was especially happy to see that they offer an English menu. I really enjoyed their gimbap — delicious Korean-style rice rolls wrapped in seaweed. They were filled with sautéed carrots, spinach or similar greens, sliced egg omelet, yellow pickled radish (danmuji), crab sticks, beef ham, tuna, and kimchi. Everything was lightly seasoned with sesame oil and topped with roasted sesame seeds — a light yet satisfying snack! At Ssada Gimbab, customers fill out a form by ticking boxes next to what they want to order (mostly gimbap, but also options like noodles, bibimbap, tteokbokki, etc.). You pay upfront, and the self-service station offers ice-cold water, kimchi, and other sauces — all free and unlimited!

I’ve been here a couple of times now since i discovered it and its amazing. It is cheap, it has variation and for a picky eater like me it was perfect comfort food. Everything is labeled in ENG/CHINESE/KOREAN so it was easy to navigate everything. Also there is a Ordering Terminal with ENG available. Food always came fast. Their pork/chicken katsu curry is amazing and is around 6€. I also always ordered some type of dumplings which were amazing. The Galbi dumplings were my favorite and the steamed dumplings were also very good. With a drink, my total cost for a very filling meal was around 11€.

This place is great for a good, reasonably priced lunch or dinner. We loved the food. We had a kimchi fried rice which was really tasty, and a ramen soup with dumplings and rice cake, which was good too. They have the menu in English and you order from a machine that has the menu in pictures and words. You then get an order number, take a seat and wait for number to appear on the screen. There is a self serve bar for sides and a water machine with free water. Nicely air conditioned and nice friendly staff. I will be back.

If there were a universal award for the most life-changing culinary experience, SSADA Gimbap would take home the gold, the platinum, and everything in between. From the moment you take that first bite, you're not just eating—you’re embarking on a sensory journey that transcends time and space.

The rice is perfectly seasoned, each grain a delicate balance of tangy, umami goodness that hugs the other ingredients in harmonious embrace. Wrapped in the nori, so fresh and crispy, every bite feels like a crisp autumn breeze sweeping through a field of wildflowers. The fillings? Utterly divine. The mix of savory vegetables, the perfectly seasoned protein (whether it’s the sublime bulgogi or tender fish), and the subtle yet addictive sesame oil gives each roll its own personality—bold, yet comforting.

There’s a rhythm to how it’s assembled, like a masterful symphony. The sweet, the savory, the salty—every flavor is in perfect balance, with no ingredient overpowering the other, yet all of them working together to create an unforgettable crescendo of taste.

But here’s the secret—SSADA Gimbap isn’t just food. It’s a feeling. The texture of the seaweed against the delicate softness of the rice is a tactile symphony, while the flavors dance in your mouth, celebrating the elegance of simplicity. And each bite leaves you longing for the next, as if time slows down with every roll.

Forget everything you knew about ordinary gimbap, because SSADA Gimbap has rewritten the rulebook. It’s not merely food. It’s a transcendent, unforgettable experience that, once tasted, becomes a benchmark for all other dishes in the galaxy.

In a world where food often feels rushed, this is a love letter to craftsmanship and flavor. SSADA Gimbap isn’t just a meal—it’s...

Just had a meal at Ssada Gimbap in Myeong-dong and I absolutely loved it.

What stood out: • The gimbap rolls were fresh, flavorful and packed with good fillings — perfect for a quick but satisfying bite. • The portion sizes were generous for the price, which made the meal feel like a great value. • The service was super fast and the ordering process was hassle-free, which is ideal when you’re exploring a busy area like Myeong-dong. • The vibes inside were clean and inviting — informal and practical, yet comfortable. • Bonus: unlimited side kimchi and radish help yourself, which added to the experience.

In short: If you’re wandering around Myeong-dong and want a delicious, affordable, and no-fuss Korean meal, Ssada Gimbap is a fantastic pick. I’ll definitely go...
