Daydream sleep salon at Suriwong — Attraction in Chiang Mai Province

Not recommended for curly hair!

I went there with a friend and booked the 'Take a Nap' package + scalp scrub.

I'll start with the positives: the place is beautiful, the staff were very welcoming, and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

You are given a form to fill out with your desired preferences. I opted out of the blow-drying option as they do not have a diffuser.

Now for the procedure itself—the massage part was not the best I’ve had, but not terrible either. It was acceptable. However, it was evident that the stylist I got had never worked with anything other than fine hair. Instead of gently untangling my curls, she yanked at them forcefully, which was anything but a calming experience.

At the end of the fiasco, you are given a review form, which felt very awkward since it was handed out and collected by the same person who worked on you.

The products they use are not suitable for curly hair. It seems like they use the same products on everyone, regardless of hair type. My hair was left extremely dry and puffy.

While my friend and I do not speak Thai, we could tell from my masseuse’s hand gestures after the session that she was making fun of my hair. This felt very disrespectful and was the final straw that pushed me to write this review.

The reason this place has such good reviews is that they offer a free massager to anyone who leaves one. Be very mindful of that when reading the reviews!

I had the better sleep package. Tee took care of me, she’s very nice and gentle which made the whole experience great. To be honest I think I feel asleep somewhere mid treatment haha which shows how relaxing and great everything was. The whole treatment was amazing but the general service around the treatment was outstanding, a great example was that Tee used a lint roller to remove the lint of black shirt - so sweet and attentive. They were all are very sweet and the atmosphere was 10/10. The blowout was sooo soft and gentle - you know when you go to a hairstylist and they do a lot of harsh pulling, which is often a bit to rough for me- not with Tee, she did amazing!!! Probably the best blow out experience I had so far! I would recommend everyone to come here, my hair feel amazing, I couldn’t be more relaxed and I can confidently confirm the value you get for what you pay is outstanding!! Extremely relaxing experience here for my wife and I. We opted for the Daydream (125 minutes, 1290 baht) package, which includes a head and foot (done with some oils) massage, and a series of different shampoos massaged into your hair, as well as this rainbow-shaped stream of water across your entire head of hair. It finally ends with a blow drying of your hair, which can be quite lengthy if you have a full head of long hair like my wife (my blow drying portion only took a couple of minutes - lol). All of this helped us to fully relax. I fell asleep for at least a portion of the massage. The shop/facility is pretty modern with muted tones and ambient lighting, and is kept extremely clean. This is the type of place that you could imagine seeing in cities like LA, NYC, etc. The staff is professional, courteous and at least the front desk person speaks English well.
