77TH ANNIVERSARY FLOWER SHOW AT CENTRAL CHIDLOM 24-28 OCT 2024
Central Anniversary 2024 "Avant Gardena" This yearly event creates Fresh Floral Atmosphere. The new open concept of luxurious brandname shops make nice and warm environment. On each floor, there are flowers immersed and united with normal shop and brand. You can stop for selfie and photo with friend and family in many areas in one floor. I noticed people come with family to enjoy family photo. There also have Samsung activity screen room where you can have fun taking photo with flowers on LED screen. Samsung staff will take a few photos for each person to select and print out on a special Central 77th Anniversary Campaign. For Samsung lover, you will receive 2 print out photos. For Apple, Huawei or any other brands, you will receive only 1 print out photo. Please do not worry, Samsung staff allows you to download the rest of your photos via QR code or Airdrop.
If you haven’t come here for some time, you will get lost easily because many brand and shop are shuffled. Even some is on the same location but you won’t recognize its new decoration concept. At the G floor, there are cosmetic booth, supermarket and freshly cook food with table to enjoy. Or you can taste some thai food from famous restaurants which open stalls. Information staff does not have full knowledge regarding the new location of brands which is unpleasant. Customer service is disappointed. The parking is still hard to find even it’s many parking spaces. Sadness this central is lack of toilet since it’s not installed on each floor. On the floor that has restaurants doesn’t have toilet. It’s so inconvenient. Toilet is dirty since it doesn’t have cleaner. Tissue and flush system are insufficient and you have to wait for the long queue.

Read moreCentral Department Store has a long and illustrious history, helping to shape the retail industry in Thailand.
The Central legacy started in 1947, with Tiang and Samrit Chirathivat bringing in innovative ideas with new merchandise lines of ready-made clothing and cosmetics to offer alongside newspapers and magazines to the Thai public.
Throughout the following decades, Central grew with new stores opening across Bangkok, bringing in pioneering ideas to the Thai retail industry, such as merchandise displays, fixed pricing systems and linking supermarkets to their stores brought new ideas and standards to their customers.
1973 saw a landmark for Central Department Store, with the opening of its flagship store at Chidlom, in the heart of Bangkok. This new monument to retail offered the first in ‘one-stop shopping’ where everything that customers would want could be found in one retail centre.
Always keeping the customers’ needs at heart, Central expanded rapidly and became the first Bangkok-based department store to reach out to the rest of the country, opening new stores across the whole of the country offering the highest in standards to those who may not be able to get to Bangkok and establishing itself as truly ‘Thailand’s Best-Loved Department Store’.
The last decade has seen Central look further afield, with an expansion into the ASEAN market and the opening of new Central Department Stores giving a regional appeal throughout south-east Asia, and then to Europe with LaRinascente, Illum, KaDeWe, Alsterhaus and Oberpollinger brought into the Central family to set Central as a truly international name in the retail industry.
With all of these expansions, Central has kept to its original ethos and still family run by the Chirathivats, it prides itself on its unwavering commitment to maintain the best products and services available, exciting lifestyle activities and interactions and unparalleled...
Read moreI remembered Central since it caught fire and then they let people go back into shop in the supermarket and then the one section collapsed and the fireman were accused of stealing the watches in the Bangkok post, however the owner does really pay attention they keep things clean and when the escalator needed changing they changed them and swapped them straight out they didn't let them get really old and horrible they did what they had to do to get the job done. The biggest problem of central chidlom is marks and Spencer's, they have a situation where they can have five staff behind the checkout system which is closed, and then direct you to another checkout or cashier they waste time and they keep us queuing and it's extremely annoying as it's not like the car park is free you have to spend to get free parking, they have this thing where they have all the people behind the cashiers but the cashiers themselves are not working and they redirect you, they have another thing whereby there are four cashier's in there or four cashier registers and then they only have one cashier open and yet they got seven eight staff working there so all the customers are queuing for what reason? it's a highly inefficient operation and at Christmas it is extremely nauseating to see it I have to take time off to go in there during the day rather than have to get stuck behind a queue in the evening, you may say why would I have a complaint over parking or anything else if I'm shopping in central because 40 Baht an hour for parking is nothing however it's still just over a liter of fuel and every...
