SexyCowBKK Prime Steak & Seafood — Restaurant in Lumphini Subdistrict

Second visit to Sexy Cow. It had been a few years so wanted to try again. It was new when we first came but it was dead on a Thursday night. Literally Two tables. i think I know why.

Sexy Cow is clearly targeting foreigners on expense accounts or only rich Thai crowd. Prices are absurdly high. That would be ok if it were a “wow” but most dishes are average at best.

Wagyu Carpaccio was very odd. It was warm and rolled up around some chopped lettuce. Unfortunately they added something sweet to the sauce they glaze it with and it ruins the steak flavor. Most carpaccio is traditionally cold and the point is to enjoy the natural flavor of the beef. This wasn’t a carpaccio but a thin single piece of haldheld flamed Wagyu for $30 usd. Terrible. Cesar salad was decent flavor but sopping in dressing. Again likely lack of training or a chef actually tasting items occasionally to check quality. It was so soggy. You cannot order any meat less than 300 grams. That is 11 ounces, which is a huge portion. If you want a good small 6 ounces filet you are out of luck. Very odd and strange way to force you to spend so much. To make matter worse ordered Medium Plus. It’s such a big thick cut at 300 grams it came medium rare. I could See in the Kitchen we were the only steak cooking. How can they mess this up? Lack of training. Lack using thermometer if they are not good at temp grading. Just poor management.

This place might be a pet project for some rich kids to take their friends but it doesn’t seem like a serious restaurant. Shocked because it has the potential just lack of good quality food. Your better off at So many other steak...

I’m okay with foods all but I unhappy after I know bill have some thing double wrong 2 time about of bill I asked service already this is sure ? First around 2 Sparkling water ? I’m remember have still 1 and sparkling 1 and still water similar sparkling water? I’m thinking different. / and them the second round Bill Happy hours I drink 2get2 500.- for beers total 4 glass ? But my sister drinks 3gls. 1gls she’s complimentary your manager 1 glasses because of her boss before but this’s bill I asked them mistake posted? Today is wow staff ignore service doesn’t have intuitive service I understand but I don’t look down about of me come for eat only have discount 15% staff ? If we’re thinking just discount I have dinner on my property is 50% and have complimentary bester ? Terrible reservation service.Have to cancel due to impoliteness from a female staff both on phone & line messages. The restaurant imply me that they don’t want to store birthday cake just an hour for me to surprise my friend. The staff told me they won’t guarantee any damage happen with my cake and why on earth should anything happen with my cake? Even more affordable restaurants will more than willing to store cake for customers—not to mention top notch restaurants. After I asked to change the reservation date a week away to suit everyone’s schedule.The staff immediately told me complimentary dessert can only be given if you book a table 7 days in advance but i happen to book 14 days ahead of time so I won’t receive complimentary dessert. Sounds silly? It’s that a new rule you made yourself because of your resentment? After that the staff rudely question me on line messages on suspicious of me faking a birthday celebration because of how I postpone by 1 week.It’s not her business to know that I am celebrating birthday to two of my friends who born a week apart from each other. She should done her job PERIOD. Not questioning customers in an insulting kind of way.
