Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel I’ve been here plenty of times for cocktails and dining, but this was my first accidental overnight stay at the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel. Safe to say, the experience did not disappoint. First Impressions: A Calming Oasis in the City Walking into the lobby, I immediately noticed the cozy, spacious, and tranquil atmosphere—definitely not one of those loud, chaotic check-in areas. The reception staff were attentive and efficient, making the whole process seamless. The hallway leading to the rooms was well-decorated and clean, but the lighting was a bit on the dim side, giving it a moody, intimate vibe. Not a deal-breaker, but worth noting. The Room: Stylish and Functional I stayed in a Studio King Bed room, which was spacious enough to be comfortable without feeling too large or empty. • Bed & Pillows: The bed itself was firm—not the plush, sink-in kind, but still comfortable. The pillows, however, were too soft for my liking. If you need firm support, you might want to request extra. • Amenities: Everything you’d expect at this price point—TV, work desk, and a well-stocked minibar. The bathtub is a nice touch, making it perfect for unwinding after a long day. • Overall Vibe: The design leans towards modern elegance, with a mix of warm wood tones and stylish decor. It feels premium but not overly flashy. Location: Prime Spot for Shopaholics & Explorers One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its location. It sits right in the heart of Bangkok’s shopping district, with easy skywalk access to BTS and major malls like Gaysorn, CentralWorld, and Central Embassy. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, getting around is a breeze. Price & Value For a 5-star hotel in central Bangkok, the price is reasonable—around 6,xxx THB per night, including breakfast. I skipped breakfast this time, so I can’t comment on that, but based on past dining experiences here, it should be solid. Final Thoughts: Would I Stay Again? Absolutely. Renaissance Bangkok delivers on all fronts—location, comfort, and service. While the dim lighting and soft pillows were small drawbacks, the overall experience was great. If you’re looking for a luxurious yet affordable stay in the city, this is a solid pick. Pros & Cons ✅ Pros: • Prime location with skywalk access to BTS & major malls • Spacious, modern rooms with a bathtub • Attentive service from check-in to check-out • Reasonable pricing for a 5-star experience in Bangkok ❌ Cons: • Pillows too soft, bed a bit firm • Dim hallway lighting might not be for everyone • Nothing overly unique compared to other luxury hotels nearby Would I come back? Likely, yes. But I’d bring my own pillow next time.

Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, located in the South of Pratunam, but still accessible to Big C via the famous R Walk. As a Titanium Elite member, we were given an upgrade to a junior suite, late check-out until 16.00, free breakfast in the lounge, free lounge access, and free 1,000 points as a welcome gift. The room is spacious with a work desk, sofa, chair and work desk. It's not difficult to open your suitcase either. There are 2 jars of cookies and a welcome letter on the table. The interior of the room is not too flashy, but it gives a luxurious impression. The lobby interior is flashy and interesting, the color combination is also beautiful. The bed is comfortable with 4 pillows and there is a carpet around the bed. 2 bottles of mineral water are provided and free refills. For tea, use Dilmah while for coffee, use coffee capsules. The bathroom amenities are complete, spacious with a shower, bathtub, and closet, as well as 2 washbasins. Unfortunately, the left washbasin comes out with dirty water like there is sediment, even though the right one is clean, so I only use the right one. The soap is Argus with Melon aroma. The facilities include an indoor swimming pool and gym. The lounge has all day snack sessions, afternoon tea and evening cocktails. For afternoon tea, there are various cakes, pringles, scones, sausage rolls, shrimp sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches and various bites. For the evening cocktail choices, it is very satisfying, there are Thai pork basil, chicken wings, quesadillas, crispy mushrooms, crab dishes, mushroom soup, Thai prawn salad, seaweed tofu, chicken liver bread, various drinks, various cakes, fruits, salads, cheese, cold cuts. Breakfast in the lounge, there are quite a lot of variants, the taste is delicious. The choices are pork sausage, beef sausage, chicken satay, pork bacon, hash brown, grilled tomato, chicken green curry, fried noodle, stir fried beef green pepper, sauteed vegetable, oatmeal, nuts, miso soup, soft boiled rice, bread, pastry, dimsum, salad, fruit, cold cut, nuts, cereal.

A Five-Star Stay in the Heart of Bangkok: Warm Hospitality & Perfect Location Our Bangkok adventure started at the Renaissance Hotel Bangkok, and from the very first moment, we felt right at home. As soon as we stepped out of the car, the concierge team greeted us with warm smiles and quickly helped with our luggage—it set such a welcoming tone for the rest of our stay. Walking into the hotel, we were instantly impressed by the spacious lobby. The design felt modern yet cozy, and the refreshing welcome drinks were such a nice touch after a long journey. Since we were traveling with our 3-year-old, location was a big priority for us. Renaissance turned out to be perfect—it’s close to family-friendly attractions like Lumphini Park and Sea Life Bangkok, and just a short walk to some of the city’s most popular malls including Central World, Siam Paragon, and Siam Square. We chose a Guest Room with a King Bed, and it was just what we needed. The room was spacious with a comfy sofa, a work desk, minibar, and a bathroom complete with a bathtub (which our little one absolutely loved). The city view from our window was also a highlight—Bangkok looked stunning both day and night. The hotel facilities didn’t disappoint either. From outdoor swimming pool with skyscraper views, fitness center, plus a relaxing sauna and spa—it felt like everything we needed was right there. There is a Chinese restaurant called Fei Ya, famous for its delicious Peking Duck. Breakfast at Renaissance was another highlight. The spread was generous with so many options to choose from, and for Muslim travelers, it’s reassuring to know they also provide halal selections. Overall, our stay at Renaissance Hotel Bangkok was truly memorable. It’s not just about the luxury, but also the warm atmosphere and unbeatable location. If you’re planning a trip to Bangkok and looking for a hotel that combines comfort, convenience, and style—we’d absolutely recommend the Renaissance Hotel Bangkok.

Outstanding Family Stay at Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong

My family of four, including our 2-year-old toddler, had the pleasure of staying at Renaissance Bangkok from 11 to 15 September 2025, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment of booking until the fond farewell, every touchpoint was thoughtful, warm, and genuinely family-oriented.

Location & Convenience

The hotel’s location is unbeatable. A sheltered 5-minute walk brought us directly to Chid Lom BTS, making it so easy to get around with a toddler. The sheltered bridge also connects seamlessly to multiple malls in the Ratchaprasong district, which was a huge plus for shopping and dining.

Rooms & Comfort

We were delighted with our spacious connecting rooms—perfect for a family. The setup made it easy for us to relax while ensuring our little one had ample space to move about safely.

Pre-Arrival Care

Before our stay even began, Nan made me feel like family. I had countless questions and requests since we were traveling with a toddler, and her prompt, informative, and thoughtful replies gave me complete peace of mind. She carefully handled all my preferences and even took note of my birthday celebration, which added a special layer of care.

Warm Welcome

On arrival, we were warmly greeted by Jack, who welcomed us with a big smile, handled our baggage, and escorted us to the front desk. Anda then assisted with check-in—it was a breeze. She kindly arranged an upgrade, honored our early check-in, and even surprised us with welcome drinks, which set the tone for a wonderful stay.

Personalized Service

Throughout our stay, we were constantly touched by the team’s thoughtful gestures:

Boo stood out as someone who genuinely cared. He frequently checked on our family, always greeted us warmly, and went above and beyond by arranging special room decorations and a bubble bath for my birthday—a memory I’ll always treasure.

Chris & Jack not only handled our restaurant bookings but also shared fantastic tips to explore Bangkok. Jack even arranged a tuk tuk ride, something I really wanted to experience—it was unforgettable!

Tiger, Cartoon & O consistently made us smile with their warm greetings and attentiveness. They added to the cheerful and family-friendly atmosphere of the hotel.

Smooth Departure

At checkout, Fah carefully walked me through the charges with patience and clarity. Mek & Gio were incredibly attentive, reminding us about an item we had stored in the freezer—such thoughtfulness prevented a big oversight! They ended our stay with heartfelt appreciation and a sincere farewell that truly made us feel valued.

Final Thoughts

What sets Renaissance Bangkok apart is not only its prime location and family-friendly rooms but above all, its people. Every team member we encountered—from front desk to concierge—delivered service from the heart. Traveling with a toddler can sometimes be challenging, but this hotel made it stress-free, comfortable, and joyful.

We left with beautiful memories of my birthday, our family time, and the city of Bangkok—thanks to the remarkable Renaissance team. We look forward to returning and highly recommend this hotel to families seeking comfort, care, and convenience in the heart of Bangkok.

I am writing to formally raise a serious complaint regarding my recent stay at Renaissance Bangkok on 27 April 2025.

I have always appreciated this hotel for its excellent location near Erawan and CentralWorld, outstanding service, and high-quality breakfast buffet, particularly the customized fresh fruit juices. However, my most recent experience was extremely disappointing and has severely affected my perception of the hotel.

At 9:30 AM, despite it being early morning, major renovation work involving loud hacking and drilling of walls or floors commenced. I immediately contacted the front desk to complain, but I had to repeat my message three times before the staff could understand basic English communication.

Later at 10:30 AM, the front desk called my room. However, as I had already placed the Do Not Disturb sign outside, I found the call highly intrusive and disrespectful, especially given that I was unable to rest due to the excessive noise earlier. When I requested to speak to the General Manager, the Front Office Manager, Mr. Moo, informed me that their system was unable to detect if the Do Not Disturb sign was active, citing the hotel's "old system" as the reason. Frankly, this explanation raises serious concerns regarding the hotel's operational standards and respect for guest privacy.

Subsequently, at 10:40 AM, loud drilling resumed. When I called the Front Office again, Mr. Moo finally admitted that renovation work would continue daily from 10:00 AM until evening. However:

No prior notice was provided in the room, lobby, or during check-in.

The renovation noise clearly began at 9:30 AM, not 10:00 AM as claimed. I have recordings to substantiate this.

The noise was continuous, extremely disruptive, and not minor as described by hotel management.

For comparison, other international hotels in Bangkok, such as Intercontinental Bangkok and Grand Hyatt Bangkok, have responsibly notified guests on their websites about ongoing renovations, often offering discounted rates and additional consideration to minimize guest inconvenience. Renaissance, by contrast, chose not to disclose any information regarding active construction, demonstrating a clear lack of transparency, responsibility, and basic hospitality standards.

The explanation provided by the management was dismissive and completely failed to address the seriousness of the situation. This incident reflects poorly on the hotel's credibility, accountability, and commitment to guest satisfaction.

I request a formal written response regarding:

Why no official notice was given to guests about the renovation. How the hotel plans to address this serious operational failure.

I'll update again once I receive an official response...
