Popped into this lifeboat station and shop, located just a few strides from the Central Pier, during a rather blustery walk along the prom. The three volunteers were very welcoming and friendly. You can take the stairs or a lift up to a gallery to view the three lifeboats, tractor and various equipment used by the lifeboat crews. The interpretation boards give inspiring accounts of courageous rescues made by lifeboat crews of the past, and there are also a few artefacts and a timeline. The gift shop was well stocked with souvenirs, clothing and beautiful jigsaw puzzles. Bought some nice stationery here. Well worth buying a gift or making a donation to support the brave men and women who risk so much to save others.

RNLI Blackpool open day, very sunny and warm which can be unusual for Blackpool found the RNLI open day event by chance, there was free entertainment plus stalls, raffle, cakes, drinks and a shop. The mayor of Blackpool was there to open this event also the RNLI boat's and vehicle's were out to look at and get on to some of them for a donation very entertaining on a sunny day. Plus the normal things to do and see in Blackpool.

The 3 gentlemen in the shop were most helpful and I enjoyed a good look around. As always I bought my souvenirs to add to my collection of stations I've visited. I visited the viewing gallery and saw both the D class rib and the Atlantic lifeboats. Each one has it's own tractor unit for towing to sea

I watch Saving Life's at Sea and love seeing these volunteer in action. They usually park out at the beach and keep an eye on the folk on the beach. Good job!
