Popped into this lifeboat station and shop, located just a few strides from the Central Pier, during a rather blustery walk along the prom. The three volunteers were very welcoming and friendly. You can take the stairs or a lift up to a gallery to view the three lifeboats, tractor and various equipment used by the lifeboat crews. The interpretation boards give inspiring accounts of courageous rescues made by lifeboat crews of the past, and there are also a few artefacts and a timeline. The gift shop was well stocked with souvenirs, clothing and beautiful jigsaw puzzles. Bought some nice stationery here. Well worth buying a gift or making a donation to support the brave men and women who risk so much to save others.

RNLI Blackpool open day, very sunny and warm which can be unusual for Blackpool found the RNLI open day event by chance, there was free entertainment plus stalls, raffle, cakes, drinks and a shop. The mayor of Blackpool was there to open this event also the RNLI boat's and vehicle's were out to look at and get on to some of them for a donation very entertaining on a sunny day. Plus the normal things to do and see in Blackpool.

Whilst visiting Blackpool recently, the RNLI was on my to do list. We went upstairs to the viewing gallery, plonked ourselves down and viewed all 3 boats with admiration. We were joined by Jan, I think her name was, a very knowledgeable volunteer who gave my daughter and I so much information and answered many of my questions....thank you Jan, you educated myself so much, but more importantly, the younger generation.....thank you for quizzing my daughter on various scenarios, identifying dangers and explaining her answers, furthering her knowledge. Thank you so much for allowing her to wear the crew kit! I have so so much admiration for the RNLI, to think you're all volunteers. Thank you for making us so welcome and even more so helping me educate my daughter...

Very self righteous and rude lady on counter. Telling me I was putting the life savers at risk because I entered the shop without a mask. I have worn masks religiously in shops over the last year but was under the impression that it was no longer mandatory. I would have happily worn one if I had known/been asked politely, but the sign was so small that even after being told there was one, I had to search for it! I don't appreciate being told I'm putting them at risk when I'm actually going in to support them. The lady in question wasn't even wearing a mask herself, just one of those plastic visors that was sticking up and not even covering her mouth. Real shame that people have to...
