Whilst visiting Blackpool recently, the RNLI was on my to do list. We went upstairs to the viewing gallery, plonked ourselves down and viewed all 3 boats with admiration. We were joined by Jan, I think her name was, a very knowledgeable volunteer who gave my daughter and I so much information and answered many of my questions....thank you Jan, you educated myself so much, but more importantly, the younger generation.....thank you for quizzing my daughter on various scenarios, identifying dangers and explaining her answers, furthering her knowledge. Thank you so much for allowing her to wear the crew kit! I have so so much admiration for the RNLI, to think you're all volunteers. Thank you for making us so welcome and even more so helping me educate my daughter...

I would have happily worn one if I had known/been asked politely, but the sign was so small that even after being told there was one, I had to search for it! I don't appreciate being told I'm putting them at risk when I'm actually going in to support them. The lady in question wasn't even wearing a mask herself, just one of those plastic visors that was sticking up and not even covering her mouth. Real shame that people have to...
