I love all of the deep fried options that they have for the deep fried sushi but I'm not sure what the crunchy sharp thing is in the tempura batter or the rolls. I've ordered three or four times now the same rolls and there's something dangerously sharp in the sushi.I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's tempura flakes or if it's like deep-fried crunchy rice or a piece of glass or something got put in this but something is just sharp crunchy like somewhere in the roll. I feel around and try to find it, bite thru it. I don't know what it is. I have ordered the same rolls three or four times now and it's the same each time. I don't know if it's the batter or if it's inside the sushi but it's not like just a regular crunch it's where you can almost break your teeth. And you have to stop chewing. Also I think that they should drain the deep fried things on the paper towel they bring it out to you fresh from the fryer and it's dripping Grease when you bite into everything that's fried. I'm sure paper towels are not expensive with how much they charge. I am used to the Rolls being a lot bigger... but if you order a couple of them and an appetizer and soup you can get full. And the waiter is so nice to look at and and works so well around the place and with the customers that i would eat just about everything there! He does so well with all kinds of people that come in. I'm so glad he is there!
** i went back after writing this and there wasnt anything sharp anymore but there was a conpletety different meat in my sushi that wasnt seafood. Im not sure what meat it was. It did not taste like chicken or pork. But i feel like the guy did that because of my review. I pay almost 80 dollars eating here each time and I'm sure they recognize the name. The sushi guy didnt have to switch out the meat on me like that. That wasnt crab or shrimp. I'm not sure what it was. But i get the same rolls everytime and that wasnt what i ordered. Also the miso had a bunch of extra stuff in it. Im afraid now to eat here. I don't know if that was for retaliation or if they ran out of something but i had to throw it away. I didnt know what...
Read moreThis was a bit of a disaster from just walking in. There was one guy at the register, wiping down tables, seating guests, taking orders (in person & over the phone) -- basically doing everything other than making the food. Poor guy kept apologizing to everyone about anything; you just feel bad for him & he's trying to do his best alone.
Everything was so slow: Getting our drinks took 10 mins, ordering our food took 20 mins, getting our food took over 30 mins. We were the only people in after a large group left (a couple people came to pickup online orders, and two people were sat after we ordered). Once we got the rolls (3 rolls total), they were all sloppy and almost every single bite fell apart. The taste was only okay, and certainly does NOT justify the price.
We never got small plates to eat over, dipping cups, refills on water, new utensils (the customers that had last used our table left two sets of chopsticks behind, so ew, but also great?), or any check-ins on our dining experience. We didn't want to waste more time for the check, so we left an estimated amount of cash to cover the bill.
Shameful to charge this much for such low quality and severely understaffing this restaurant. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, go straight to jail, and...
Read more!!!! DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT WORMS IN YOUR SUSHI !!!!
I went here while visit Alaska because I had a groupon for here. I ordered one of the sushi/sashimi plates. When I got it, the waiter said the chef gave me extra sushi for free (ok cool that's awesome) then I look at the rest of the sushi pieces and I'm wondering why this was even served to me?! The salmon looked like it was sitting out for weeks!!! The raw shrimp was also dry and old looking. I ate about 2 pieces of the California roll, then I ate a piece of the raw tuna. I saw something weird poking out of the salmon so I poke it with my chopstick AND A WORM POKED OUT! It was absolutely disgusting!! I was on the verge of puking. Mind you I only ate a MAX of 4 pieces from my dish out of the ~30 that were on there and they were "kind" enough to not charge me for the plate I BARELY touched. I would've expected a full refund of the dinner and now I have to go to the doctor to make sure I didn't ingest any of the worms. I get that while consuming sashimi there's always a risk of worms, but as a restaurant you should be more cautious and also you shouldn't serve extremely old looking food that you KNOW doesn't look right....
