Was accosted by mall cops, said the dog 'alerted' and it was trained to find guns, bombs, and drugs. This very old out of shape 'trained' dog has just got done pooping on the sidewalk. Having been around working dogs, he certainly didn't 'alert' and may at one point been trained in a specific detection, but it wasn't on this day.
I politely turned down a search, and also refused an interrogation from a young (also out of shape) mall cop with every gadget know to man on his belt (except a firearm). The only security guard that was armed was incredibly rude, but had zero training as her pistol was not very secured and she never once kept it facing away from me. Had I been the drug addled, bomb laden person I was accused of being I could have easily been in control of her firearm in about 0.3 seconds.
I get ABQ has crime and shoplifters. I am all for law and order, but these mall cops are putting themselves and shoppers in danger with their lack of training and lack luster communication abilities. I can only imagine to what would happen to patrons when Ms Riddick decided to start throwing lead down-range. I also have spent years at the Uptown Mall shopping with my family. Never Again.
I recommend the sweet dog gets a trained handler and that the security company institutes a physical fitness program. As it currently stands, the only thing these guys stand to catch is Type 1 diabetes...
Read moreA security officer in a white Dodge Charger entered the T-Mobile store and was slandering my name and asked the staff not to assist me as he had called the locally police department for "back up"? This 6ft Hispanic male continued to harras me as I walked ro my hotel and was driving at a high speed in the parking lots. I confronted the young man at which point he turned around to his security watch perimeter. At approximately 230am after finishing laundry he entered the Element Hotel and was knocking at my door. He continued to insult me at which point I asked him to watch his "jurisdiction" and actual enforcement rights. I asked him to call the police if there was an issue. He and the night audit girl then started calling my room and stated there was noise complaints. I was eating a microwave burrito and folding my laundry. THERE WAS NO COMPLAINTS AND GUEST CAME OUT OF THEIR ROOM TO EXPRESS CONCERN FOR HIS BEHAVIOR I LEFT $800 NEAR THE COFFE MAKER AND WAS SO ANGRY THAT I FORGOT. I WAITED FOR POLICE TO ARRIVE WITH MY LUGGAGE DOWNSTAIRS. NO ONE EVER SHOWED. I HAD TO DRIVE DOWJ MENAUL IN A SCOOTER WITH MY BAGS AS A SEAT. THIS MAN OVERSTEPPED HIS MALL COP AUTHORITY AND WOULD BE A...
