Really disappointed that the rating for this place is so high, I feel tricked. We had to wait over an hour and didn't even have a place to sit... The food is not as expected, mediocre at best. The tacos are tiny, kid sized or "street tacos". We had to eat in our car after waiting the hour for our food. Will not be returning. $40 for the food shown, no drinks. Also the nachos that come with the kids meal don't have any cheese that come with it. It's just chips, and some are overcooked as you can see in the photo, but the food was cold. Notice on the cheesy nachos, the cheese isn't even melted. I don't have anything positive to say about this place other than the staff was friendly. I prefer Taco Bell over Cali Burrito Co. 😬 Yikes. Also, I'm super annoyed that I had to wait an hour and they don't even have a bathroom for customers. Management needs to do better. If I'm paying $40 and can't even sit in the restaurant, I should be able to use some toilet paper and a flush. I'm super irritated if you can't tell. 😅 Edit: response to business - How exactly was I supposed to ask one of your three very busy staff members if they had a restroom? Usually people have the restroom marked... I found a room that said for employees only, and a broom closet. Two other doors that were incorrectly marked I suppose. The meat that was on my fries had about 25% fatty chewy pieces. The quality was subpar to say the least. If you knowingly are going to be busy, a functional restaurant will staff more members for those days. It is not my responsibility to wait longer, nor to order my food through a third party service. As I stated previously, I will not be returning so there is no need for me to message you privately. I do feel that it is my responsibility to warn others about my experience though. You should take my constructive criticism to improve your business rather than becoming defensive. ❤️

Greeted warmly as we entered the establishment. We visited midweek about 5pm or so. The counter help was friendly. It was our first time visiting this establishment. We ordered an asada burrito and asada fries. The meat, the carne asada was okay. The cook of the meat and seasoning were okay. To be honest, a typical carne asada burrito would have some guacamole in it, this one didn't appear to have any maybe it was a guacamole sauce? And the cheese was certainly non existent. Regardless this burrito was lacking major refinement. The fries inside were soggy (and didn't seem too fresh) and they detracted from allowing the carne to shine. Also, the ratio of fries to carne was sadly off as well. It was more like a "fries" burrito peppered with asada. The sauce used inside didn't have any spice to it either. The carne asada fries suffered a similar fate, granted they were french fries as the main ingredient but again soggy and drowned out with sauces. The plate did not have a fresh, polished delicious taste. We paired our order with an horchata and a fountain drink. The total price was higher than average. If it hadn't been for the friendly service this review would have been given 2.5 ⭐.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the asada fries @ Cali Burrito, and I was thoroughly impressed! After the previous business at this location closed, it's been difficult to find that authentic California flavor again. However, Cali Burrito EXCEEDED my expectations, especially with their delicious addition of guacamole to the fries! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, even showing me how to sign up for their rewards program. If you're in Albuquerque, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND treating yourself to what I consider THE BEST asada fries in the city. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I was a big Last Call fan before their downfall during the pandemic. My biggest gripes with their burritos was the meat quality and price, so I was hopeful that new owners would rectify this. Unfortunately, after spitting out an inedible piece of fat, I have come to the conclusion that this is still not the burrito I had fallen in love with back in 2018. The ingredients were also distributed strangely, and the tortilla was not well wrapped. I ordered the Burrito Asada for delivery in case anyone is wondering. I'm hoping my vegan friend will try their vegan options and report back to me, because the meat is that disappointing.

Update (9/3/24): I have since revisited Cali Burrito Co twice. I once had the vegan burrito which was pretty decent, and their chicken burrito which was greatly under sauced (and so was my friend's vegan burrito at that time).

I'm not going to change my rating because here are my issues: Lack of consistency Time you have to wait for a burrito Price

The lack of consistency refers to the burritos differing in quality across the board. They're either under sauced or low quality meat. We had to wait 30 minutes for these burritos. Granted, we were told this ahead of time and there was a table of six ahead of us, so we accepted this. However, when you wait 30 minutes for an incredibly dry burrito, it's pretty disappointing. When Last Call operated downtown and had a whole line of people after a show, their burritos were quick and consistent. I think this probably due to lack of staff. $17 for a dry burrito and horchata is ridiculous. If the owner wishes to address me again,...

This place is GREAT! From the amazing customer service, to the great food. The owner/manager getting down and making some of the orders. I gave it a 4 star because of some minor issues. (will be back soon again and will hopefully change the rating to 5 stars.) The first day they ran out of guac, which is totally understandable after a busy and successful day for them. Not a big deal, but we asked for sauces on the side and didn't mind paying extra. We get home and there are no sauces on the side. My fiancés order of fries were dry after getting past the top layer of fries. A little frustrating especially after paying about 40$ not including the tip for 3 main course items and a tres leches cake. But the flavor on the fries and burrito was great. Only downfall was not any sauce on the side and dry fries. Another minor issue was the tres leches cake. I'm not even exaggerating (and it was the first day being open so maybe they were running low) but the piece was extremely small... And it was a little dry as well, nothing like a tres leches cake. And to top it of they put the cake under a half order of fried and under a burrito so it was smashed. But the positives of great customer service, friendliness, everyone smiling, good vibes, and overall good food will bring us back to give it...
