Pure Barre — Attraction in Albuquerque

Woweee. I took my first class this morning and OMG...it was amazing!!! My experience from the beginning has been nothing but stellar. From the phone call to set up my first class, to my welcome email, to showing up early to sign paperwork, to my first Pure Barre Classic class. Jackie greeted me with a warm and welcoming smile as soon as I walked in the door at 5:40am. She explained how the class would work in a very positive, but gentle and informative way. Class began on time, and moved quickly (which she prepared me for), she kept the energy up (but not in a fake, annoying way) and before I knew it, I felt like I had been doing PB for years! It takes a very special kind of instructor to make you feel part of the class (not as a newbie or outsider who doesn't know what they are doing), who keeps the energy and intensity level up all while giving informative instructional comments about the moves, and who makes you feel like class just began when in reality it is coming to an end. Now, that is not to say she didn't push us to our limits, but time moved with ease because of her knowledge and shear love of instructing. She was infectious! The studio had all the right personal touches and I know Christi, Jenni, and family put a lot of detail even in the smallest things, it didn't go unnoticed. Everything was clean, and bright, and the workout space was very inviting. I definitely can't wait for my next class...hope I can move tomorrow!!! :-) (I can use the very special bath salts that were provided as a gift to me for coming...again nice personal touch!!!) Haven't used their services since May when I lost my job. 7 months ago!!! Messaged them that they just confirmed over the phone with me they had. Christa Culbertson is who I was speaking with, says that she would have needed an email for it to be legitimate. Well thanks Audra for letting me know that back in May. THATS not my fault and now they're punishing me. Haven't used the services but the 1 month I paid for. Then they decide less than a month before christmas to try and sneak out a charge of $20 and when that went through they pulled another $175 out of my account. When I called, Christa tells me she can see the record of me notifying them I wouldn't be able to pay any further payments; but that it still didn't matter. She said she'd go to her website to get the corporate information but then refused to give me the corporate information claiming they don't have that information. Then proceeded to hang up on me. Telling me to get on with my night and look up the information myself. Your "franchise" sucks and your customer service is seriosuly lacking. Christa stated even if I didn't use the services it doesn't matter they're still allowed to steal from me. Interesting....

I have always wanted to try barre and actually signed up for two classes before I finally got over feeling intimidated and showed up to Barre Albuquerque for my first class 2 weeks ago. Not only was Christi fabulous and put me at ease in the studio, but even the other barre regulars in the room were kind and welcoming. The work out itself is challenging in the best way. Time flies as you move quickly from one exercise to the next, totally burning out muscle groups. Looking around the room, every person is at various levels of fitness and successfully able to push themselves to still find challenge in each exercise. Seeing this makes me feel encouraged that there won't be the leveling off effect of many other work out methods. I definitely am hooked and know my addiction comes half from the workout itself and half from this studio's encouraging and...
