I recently came here for figure skating. I checked the freestyle sessions on their website. The first day i went there, they said that the freestyle had started at 3, but the website stated it started at 4. This happened again, I went to the rink for the freestyle that was supposed to start at 9:30, it had actually ended by then. I told them about this, and they just directed me to a paper which had the same exact schedule that the website showed. I had to tell them that it was the same schedule when the second staff member behind the desk saw it and wouldnāt tell me. They just said āSorry, Looks like someone messed upā while chuckling. The website stated, that the times are subject to change, but the paper version at the rink should be updated if that were to happen. The staff that talked to me were actually kind of rude. Iāve seen in other reviews that they were pretty friendly, but they talked weirdly towards me. Iām not sure if they were racist or i have done something to upset them, but they were not as friendly as people have said. There had been times where I was just simply asking a question and it they were just ignorant and pissy. There was only one staff member that was friendly. Iām not sure what his name was, but he had blonde hair and black glasses. Furthermore, when I was on the freestyle, I noticed one of coaches was just staring at me, during HER lesson. I wasnāt doing anything but skating. I started talking to one of her students, unknowingly that she was her student. She made her student that I was talking to, go to her. She talked to her while staring at me weirdly. Itās not uncommon for a coach to tell her student to stop talking and skate. But it is weird for a coach to starting at you while saying that. Overall, the freestyle sessions were good, when I got to rink on the actual time. I liked how you could get to the session at the time and pay for that exact...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn general, the ice rink is satisfactory. However, there are significant operational issues that require attention. Before you take advantage of this facility, there are a few points I would like to mention.
If you have children and are interested in enrolling them in classes, it can be hit or miss. While there are a few excellent instructors, most of them tend to take their time and engage in conversations, causing the 30-minute classes to be a 10-minute classes. Therefore, relying on instructors for group classes may not be reliable. Nevertheless, I must highlight that there are a couple of exceptional instructors. Maybe 2 or 3.
Also, Sadly, this location offers very limited hockey classes or sessions for adults. However, they have frequent ice time sessions allocated for figure skaters, known as Freestyle sessions. Once, I wanted to practice my skating during a Freestyle session and paid for it at the front desk. However, while I was skating, they asked me to leave, stating that it was not intended for hockey skaters unless they were taking a private class with a coach. Consequently, there is very little ice time available for hockey players.
If the group classes were led by instructors who were willing to teach and if there were more ice time allocated for hockey skaters, this place could serve as a role model in its field. But it is not even at half of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is for their ice skating classes. I have my first time skater in the intro class. The lack of attention is mindblowing. Basically NO attention at all. Super unorganized, different person teaching every week and so unsafe. My kid fell and was trying to get up repeatedly, while the teacher kept talking to someone else and wasn't looking at all. My daughter was right behind her with her hands on the ice, trying to get up and the teacher just backs up without looking. I got so nervous ... my daughter's fingers were right there! We went to 2 classes and that's enough. I want my money back, the class is just a money grab. There's no teaching involved, and no sense of safety and zero attention from the adults. The adults class is next to the intro class (divided by just 2 cones) and the adults would always go over to the kids class while doing spins and stuff ... again, that is so unsafe for an intro class with very young children. If the teachers were more attentative and watched out then I would feel better about it but the teachers are not...
