There is a first time for everything. My spouse wanted to take a day trip to the beach and she came up with Asbury Park as the option. About 1.5 hours from my home, I figured why not. It was a great beach day with the weather around 82 with a slight breeze but the sun was very warm. We found parking rather easily as there are hundreds of street parking spots and public lots to use. Street parking uses an APP for parking so be prepared to download it upon arrival. Beach tags are 9$/person on the weekend for a daily pass. It was a jam packed beach but we found a spot amongst the crowd and settled in. There are lifeguards in duty which is nice and the beach sand was clean. It’s not a huge beach like wildwood so space is limited and you won’t be able to play a large soccer game or fly a kite. They did have a few volleyball games set up in what seemed like a designated area. If you have kids, they also have a few playground areas on the beach for them to play in. The boardwalk is small compared to wildwood and ocean city but still has a shore like feeling. They have restaurants, food trucks, and other eateries and some shops. Don’t miss the Retro Arcade which of course is my favorite. They even have a splash pool are for the kids for an extra fee. Overall the experience was a great time for a day trip. I would go back again. Pardon my pics, I tried to black out all the kids in the splash park pics. It’s only included to show what it looked like and keep privacy of families.

What can i say about Asbury Park Beach other than I really enjoy going there several times a year. It’s not my favorite beach but I still go since I love to walk the boards, pop into convention hall and browse the shops, lunch at the Break is always good. They have great burgers, sandwiches and the sushi is so good. There’s other restaurants too on the boardwalk and lots on cookman ave but I like to stay near the water. When stone pony summer stage has a concert my friends and I either get tickets or sit across the street on the grass or bring a chair. You can even see the stage. We do have a boat and from the water the music can be heard as clear as can be. When it’s 10-11 we love to dip into paradise to dance before heading home, the disco opens at 10. It’s a fun time on a summer night or anytime of year actually. Let’s not forget wonder bar , they have good music also and check out their Yappy hour schedule for your dogs . You can bring your furry friends to play with others in the baby pools and things they set up for play time. So fun !🤩

The heart of the Jersey shore with a rich history of music. The beach is very well maintained, with regular grooming during in season. Having a number of different restaurants on the boardwalk gives visitors options to enjoy a cozy drive bar or date night. 8th street is dog friendly during the summer - with the entire beach being dog friendly in the off season.

I won’t be back. The municipality stated that the beach allows service dogs. Upon arrival at least 3 police officers stopped me to tell me that animals including service animals are not allowed. I informed them that my animals are licensed and registered and when I call the township they said service animals are permitted. They then proceeded to say that even with the documentation it’s up to the head life guard not the town. I was accosted my beach goers, employees, and the ashbury police dept. which triggered an episode. So l will never be back to this beach and 2 I will be looking at this...
