BofA: A Nightmare of Fees, Poor Service, & Hidden Charges
Bank of America has become synonymous of poor service, hidden fees, & a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Here's why you should stay away from BofA:
Hidden Fees & Fraudulent Practices: BofA’s fees are outrageous, & they’ve found every possible way to drain your account. From double charges on insufficient funds to sneaky fees on accounts they created without my consent. I've been hit with around $190/month in card fees. They’ve even set up accounts within my account to add more hidden fees. An outright scam.
Incompetent & Rude Customer Service: The customer service is unhelpful & often ill-intended. I've spoken to reps who were completely disinterested & making fun of the situation during calls. An agent from Houston was even sarcastic, refused to help, & acted completely unprofessional. When I tried to close my account, I was transferred to five different departments — each time waiting 30 minutes or more only for them to not resolve the issue. The staff is rude, dismissive, & very incompetent.
Terrible App & Lack of Transparency: Bank of America’s app is a disaster. It’s the slowest app on my phone, & navigating its UI is a nightmare. Terrible confusing UX, lacks transparency, & makes you feel like you're fumbling through ancient systems. On top of that, I’m locked out of my account every week, needing to reset my password due to their outdated systems.
Bait-and-Switch "Deals”: BofA’s “deals” are nothing more than a bait-and-switch. They advertise rewards & benefits that are nearly impossible to claim, leaving you feeling cheated. It’s a trap designed to deceive your wallet.
Unethical Practices & Lack of Security: Bank of America is negligent deceptive greedy corporation. They created accounts in my name without consent just to charge me more, & their “security” is a joke. I can’t even withdraw deposits or use them to pay off balances, everything is blocked. It’s clear they care only about making money at your expense, not providing any real value.
Conclusion: It’s hard to imagine a worse banking experience. From hidden fees to fraud, terrible customer service, & a broken app, Bank of America is a disaster in every sense. I’m done with legacy banks & switching to more modern, transparent digital options like Mercury. Do yourself a favor & avoid this bank...

Read moreFinally got to the 55th floor of the Bank of America building and really wish they could turn this into something that folks could visit more often! The views are incredible and since I was there for a workshop on The Stitch project in the city they had a the windows marked for locations (assuming they're not normally like that). The lobby, while dated and under construction is quite amazing and I'm shocked that it hasn't been used for...
