Grits & Eggs continues to exceed expectations with their phenomenal lunch offerings that leave taste buds tingling and hearts full. As always, I started my meal with one of their frozen coffee drinks, expertly crafted with Costa Coffee, which never fails to provide a refreshing and invigorating boost.
But it's the beignets with honey and powdered sugar that truly steal the show every time. These little pockets of heaven are a perfect balance of fluffy and crispy, with just the right amount of sweetness to satisfy any craving.
Moving on to the main course, the Fried Red Snapper was an absolute delight. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior that gave way to a flaky and tender interior. Paired with the melt-in-your-mouth cabbage and the sweetness of the candied yams, it was a symphony of flavors that left me craving more.
But the culinary delights didn't end there. The Crab Cakes were a true indulgence, with a delicate blend of flavors and a perfectly golden crust. And let's not forget about the creamy, cheesy mac and cheese, the perfectly cooked collard greens, and the buttery corn muffins—all of which rounded out the meal perfectly.
As always, the service at Grits & Eggs was top-notch, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. In fact, my dining companion and I had the pleasure of recommending dishes to a couple at a neighboring table, who were so impressed that they asked to speak to the chef to give him high praise. It's moments like these that truly showcase the magic of Grits & Eggs and make it a must-visit for all dine-out occasions.
In conclusion, Grits & Eggs continues to set the bar high with their exceptional lunch offerings, expertly crafted dishes, and warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're craving classic Southern comfort food or looking to indulge in something new and exciting, Grits & Eggs has something for everyone. Trust me—you won't be...
Read moreTime to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We love a good breakfast/brunch. I saw this spot on Instagram. The influencer posts are usually hit or miss but not this time. It was the real deal.
Located on 699 Spring Street up from The Varsity going against the direction of traffic. I like the fact that it was very clean cut. An open dining room with all types of seating including counter top high or low seating. Good for those that cannot sit on high stools. We went online and added our name to a waiting list just in case there was a line. Thankfully we walked in and we're immediately greeted with a smile and seated.
Our server Renee came right over and again greeted us with a smile and asked was this our first time there. She gave us menus for food and drinks as they serve cocktails and cocktails too.
We started off with hot tea, a French 75 and an Espresso Macchiato with a solo shot. I was impressed that she came back with a tea box for my daughter to choose the flavor of tea. Love the selection. We were also bought some Beignets. Omg they were hot buttery and melt in your mouth good.
The menu had so many different dishes. A little something for everybody. You could visit here 20 times and never eat the same thing.

Read moreVisited on a Saturday afternoon for brunch with a few friends, table of 5. We were seated after about 10-15 minutes versus the initial 45 minutes we were quoted. Menus were on the table for us to review once we sat down. There were many options to choose from. We all started with waters and I had a pineapple mimosa mocktail. I eventually settled on French toast, eggs with cheddar cheese, both grits and home fries, and turkey bacon on a side plate. We all placed our orders and had conversation while we waited. We saw other tables receive their food and we were excited to get our food because everything looked good. Maybe about 20-25 minutes later we received our food. I shared my French toast with a friend who got the pancakes. The pancakes were savory, the French toast was savory as well although the edges were too tough for my liking. The eggs and grits were delicious. I could've done without the home fries, they didn't have seasoning and weren't fresh. Overall we had a good experience with the exception of service being slightly slow but our server was also a manager so she had a lot on her plate and then the ventilation which caused the kitchen smoke to permeate the dining area. Some of my group eyes were watering bc of it and the smoke smell clung to my clothes. I ordered salmon, yams, mac, and cornbread to go for my husband. He said everything was good and...
