I moved in as a relet & the tour had me speechless. Everyone was so nice during my move in process. I was in for a rude awakening. Letās start with parking. I was not informed that parking was full. I was told that I would have to get a guess pass everyday. I work, so it is extremely hard to get a guess pass when the office opens at 9 & I have to be to work at 9. The days I can get a guess pass, they are all taken by 9:01. I had to pay $100 to park across the street for a month. The first week I moved in my, car was broken into. HERE said they could no nothing about it.
I put in two maintenance request around the third week at HERE. They took about three days to come & still did not fix the issues. One was the sink stopper being stuck, my roommate ended up getting it out. 4th of July my refrigerator light went out. July 8th it stopped working completely. My roommate put in a maintenance request on July 9th. It took them three days to fix the refrigerator & everything went bad. I asked the office for a refund, and they said they would get back to me. Nothing. I put in two more maintenance request almost two weeks ago. They still havenāt showed up.
Security are the nicest guys ever, but they are not securing anything but the front door. People will literally wait until someone scans in the back (sometimes the front too) & walk with you all the way to the elevator.
They will press their desired floor after you scan & thatās it. You cannot use the chair in the room if youāre over 150 pounds because it will literally fall apart. The walls are so easy to get scratched. Everything is so cheaply made. The big screen does not work. You have to use the golf simulator before the office closes or you will not be able to use it. The pools are almost always dirty. The floors around the place are filthy. All of the office staff maybe with the exception of one has the worst attitude ever. Itās like they hate their job. Maintenance never fixes anything. Iām pretty sure I am going to get charged for everything I asked maintenance to fix when I move out. I pay $934 to live in a 4x4 when the apartment is not even big enough for 4 people. Thereās not even enough seating space for 4 people in the living room.
I do not recommend HERE at all. Donāt waste your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Connector (formerly known as āThe Hereā before being bought out due to overwhelming mismanagement) is a deeply problematic apartment complex that preys on college students and the families supporting them. Throughout my residency, the experience was defined by negligence, unsafe conditions, and outright exploitation.
To begin with, the dog park, while marketed as an amenity, is completely disconnected from the rest of the property. Once the sun sets, residents are exposed to the surrounding streets of Atlanta, where safety becomes a serious concern. The parkās water fountain and lighting have been non-functional the entire time I lived there, despite repeated promises that repairs were āon the way.ā
Security is a major issue. Tragically, a student was fatally shot on the property, an event that speaks volumes about the lack of effective security measures. In my personal experience, one of the buildingās own security guards even stole food directly from me, a shocking breach of trust and professionalism.
The apartment itself was no better. A burst pipe in the unit above mine flooded my apartment with hot water while I was away, leaving my dog trapped inside his kennel dangerously close to electrical outlets. No staff member reached out to notify me personally (they sent out an email to the entire complex hours later), and the only response was to install industrial dehumidifiers that made my home environment unbearably loud. Itās an unacceptable disruption for anyone, let alone someone working from home. The electrical system in my bathroom remained broken and unrepaired.
The complex also engages in aggressive and unjust booting and towing practices, further straining residents financially. In many cases, residents were penalized for parking in spaces they had used regularly without issue.
In short, The Connector is more than just an overpriced, poorly managed student housing complex. It is a risk to your finances, your well-being, and potentially, your safety. I strongly urge students and parents to look elsewhere. There are far better, safer, and more honest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst I will say I did enjoy the amenities but even the amenities had their issues. The view from my high rise apt was also gorgeous and I loved the apartments aesthetics, but it had so many issues. The flooring was constantly coming up and my roommate and i's ceiling started leaking two separate times. Her leak was right over her bed. The ceiling was also continuously cracking in the living room which scared my roommate and I because we thought it might cave in. The blinds next to my bed fell on me while i was taking a nap and a month later the same thing happened to my roommate While the maintenance men always came quickly, they even commented on how poorly the building was built and how it was probably built too fast. I did not understand why we paid $125 A MONTH for parking when the garage did not work for an entire 9 months. Even after there were multiple break ins, it took months for them to fix it. It just did not seem like a priority. The staff was not the best at communication. A lot of the times I would hear about thing going on in the building through an apartment group chat we had before I heard anything from the staff. I remember one time a few of the locks for the doors that go from the garage to the building were not working. I called the office to let them know they were not working and apparently they had not been working for hours, but the office decided this was not important enough to share through a quick email. Even after i moved out in June after filling out all necessary paperwork and turning in all apartment items, I was still charged an $115 electric bill for June and July even though I was officially moved out. When my father attempted to email the building about this, we were ignored. twice.
While the living space was maybe a 3/5 the entire experience was 1/5. These people had little respect for...
