Over time, a bad procedure progressed to the point that I had cavities making a gap between my two front teeth and some other pretty ugly stuff going on right in the front of my mouth for every one to see. It didn't make matters better that I was pregnant during, and then 3 times after this, which I think accelerated things.
After initially being fearful of another costly "mis" procedure, I finally got up the nerve to see a dentist. My insurance reneged because they thought the procedure would fail, forcing me to cancel. It was when my brother asked "Since when do you have a gap?" I knew I had to do something.
Frightened of the cost, I set out on a google search. Initially, I counted Feather Touch out. I saw that they were the official dentist of the Atlanta Hawks and figured I can't possibly afford them. But after getting stuck for over 30 minutes reading review after review and not finding a single complaint, I had to at least try.
Once I arrived, I spoke with Tiffany who asked a few questions and got me settled. I told her, and the assistant Jacquelin, that I was nervous and they were very empathetic and reassuring. They made me feel comfortable and safe, and even gave me chapsticks before the doctor came. Super good BTW, ask if not offered LoL. Then the scary part happened. I had to use these... things, to hold my mouth open so they could... wait for it... Take Pictures!!! OMG.
Now if you're a person who is insecure about your smile, then you understand how traumatic it must be to have to skin out your whole entire mouth in front of this big behind camera that has a lens encased in flash! faints Through out the process though, they made sure I was not overwhelmed, and asked if I needed breaks, because it really was a lot. Jacqueline was so kind to me. That's honestly why I remember her name. She connected with me as a patient to make me feel safe doing something I considered scary.
When Dr. Kim introduced himself he was kind as well. Very easy to talk to. Excellent bedside/chair side manner. He asked questions other doctors never did. He wanted to know about me and my story that brought me to that chair. He listed to make, took into consideration ALL of that factors I had going on in this and made the best combination of choice and want than I'd ever been offered. The procedure I received had never been mentioned as an option before and I had never actually been given a plan of how it could be broken down.
Speaking of plans, Tiffany was the best okay!! I was so high off of positive energy after my visit, I went ahead and paid for a mold to be made. Immediately after leaving I got cold feet. Tiffany and Dr. Kim had both given me their numbers. I reached out to Tiffany and explained to her that I was afraid I'd messed up because I paid for the mold without knowing how much the procedure would be (pending Dr. Kim's treatment plan) and if I couldn't afford it, I felt like I'd just wasted money paying for the frame.
She relayed my concerns, and I don't know, maybe, probably, it did have an impact on Dr. Kim's plan. In the end, it worked out for me. Finally. When I came in on treatment day I already knew I was in for a long procedure. After hours of work, I saw myself in a way I haven't seen myself in over 7 years. I cried. My husband cried. I think every one in the room got misty eyes. Dr. Kim truly changed my life!! I know I still have a lot to work, but my take away is that every one here ACTUALLY cares about me as a person AND a patient.
I have to say it again. You are safe here. I'm so grateful that out of hundreds, I was able to stumble upon this gem of a team. Thank due to Mr. Richard and Dr. Shah for assisting in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy response to business Response: Thank you for your response. While I appreciate your effort to accommodate patients, mentioning coming in on your day off feels irrelevant and dismissive. Unfortunately, your reply comes across as defensive and lacks acknowledgment of the misdiagnosis and the unnecessary treatment plan, which could have caused significant financial and physical stress for my daughter. My review is based on facts verified by another dentist and a specialist (Endodontist). I hope this feedback encourages your office to prioritize accurate diagnostics and patient-centered care in the future. Happy Holidays!
Be Cautious: Misdiagnosis Due to Lack of Expertise at This Office
I trusted this dental office based on great reviews and its inclusion in my insurance network, but they misdiagnosed my 19-year-old daughter, who is away at college. She woke up with tooth pain and was able to get a same-day appointment.
Despite only having one cavity in her life and none on the tooth that had pain, the dentist claimed she had a cracked tooth and needed a root canal after taking X-rays. They insisted she would also need a crown, which is not universally true. In fact, Iāve personally had a molar root canal restored with just a filling. The office seemed eager to push the root canal and even printed out the costs for her crown, which is costly; a big win for the dental office rignt!
To make matters worse, they referred her to an Endodontist who wasnāt in our insurance network. This raised concerns that their referral practices might be financially motivated. Thankfully, my daughter found an in-network Endodontist who confirmed
she did not need a root canal.
Later, during her routine biannual cleaning at her regular dentist, the truth came out. Without the dentist knowing about the previous visit, her dentist found no evidence of a crack or infection near the bone, just a small chip. He stated that since her pain subsided and the scans showed no issues, there was no reason to be alarmed.
I can only imagine what would have happened to my daughter if I wasn't there to guide her.
I will never recommend or allow my daughter to visit this dental officeāor any dentist in Georgiaāagain. Their lack of expertise and questionable practices have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was looking for a new dental clinic because the tools and facility at my old clinic were looking worn out. Not to mention that for years, my doctor would tell me that i would need to redo my old fillings, but it never got addressed, so I sort of questioned their credibility.
I've switched over to Feather Touch, and going to the dentist has been great and no longer stressful or scary! I love the location, staff, and how painless the visits have been!
Feather Touch is located in Colony Square, so I love how I can grab a bite either before or after my appointment at Politan Row!
Best way to reach the office is through the lobby that is located past Moe's that can be seen on the right side before entering Politan Row. Take the elevators on your right to go to the 12th floor and take a left out of the elevator. Office is located around the corner.
Once you enter the office, you're greeted by friendly staff. I've had my cleaning and my fillings redone so far and everyone has been terrific from the front desk, dental hygienist, to Dr. Kim. They're super gentle, addresses all your questions, and always check on you to make sure you're comfortable and doing okay.
I was little nervous getting my fillings redone today but I was amazed by how quick and painless the visit was! They gave me a bit of laughing gas, and then numbing shot, and some noise cancellation headsets that I connected my music to so that I can jam through the procedure. I can still hear some drilling but didn't feel any pain and was just enjoying the nice view from their office window and enjoyed my music.
I still have more re-fillings to get done but judging by how this visit went, I have no worries and truly feel like I've made a great decision in switching over here! Also, I no longer have visible silver filling when I smile! Or as my friend had called it, pirate tooth but you can gather, these fillings were super old and definitely needed rework.
Oh and make sure to bring your deck parking ticket to get validated on your way out! They got you covered! Your visit to the...
