I always have an incredible experience at this Waffle House! I walk around the city a lot, and this is my favorite place to grab a quick meal of hashbrowns (scattered, smothered, covered, chunked, and diced!) when I'm in the area.
The folks working there have to deal with awful tourists, and they handle it amazingly. I'm glad to know I'm now recognized as a regular who knows what he's doing and how to do it.
Waffle House is always wild. ON PURPOSE. Because they serve everyone, from homeless veterans who can maybe only afford an egg to elitist, egotistical, entitled boomers like the one that came in today.
I had lovely service from three folks who seemed to be having a stressful day. But then, this guy walks in, and while they're all three busily cooking and running a busy spot right in the middle of Atlanta, he gets angry when he's asked to order his to-go meal at the register. Slams the door (not twice, but thrice!) and yells that the instructions on ordering weren't clear (they were), but even if they weren't, it was clearly a busy day and things happen.
So rather than accept the advice that he order at the register three feet away, he storms out screaming, "I'm calling Bert about this! You know, Bert?!" Unfazed because they're busy, he still feels the need to walk back in and say, "like in BERT'S CHILI!"
Yes sir, people who have been to a Waffle House more than twice know who Bert is, especially the staff. And to threaten people who are doing their best on an income that isn't all that great (literally, the whiniest "I'm gonna call the Big Boss to get you fired!" I've ever heard), that's a terrible move. But they took it in stride.
I have always and will continue to always have a wonderful experience there. I hope the "gentleman" in question reevaluates how he treats folks. I very much hope he read this! Not everyone is you, sir. We're better understanding each other.
He could have taken this so easily in stride, but maybe he lapsed with his cholesterol medication or refused to ever see a therapist and became upset. I joke, but seriously, he was a really awful person to the folks that work here.
He nearly ruined a Waffle House experience, but the amazing staff here saved it, and we all had a good...
Read moreI have an excellent review to leave. On November 10th, 2022, we were visiting Atlanta down from Tennessee, specifically to get a passport and fly internationally.
Food was excellent, service excellent, atmosphere excellent, server and host was excellent. But here is the greatest part of the review.
I accidentally left my passport receipt when I left and after I noticed several minutes later ran back to look for it.
The host, the server, and especially the manager Ed responded perfectly and offered to put on extra gloves and go through several bags of trash 🗑 trying to help us. It's not a huge deal, but im a white male and all the staff is african american, this is not about race but it was so beautiful to truly see today that there's want anything about race, just people helping other people like it's suppose to be.
I especially want to point out Ed the manager has such respect and leadership with his staff that when a customer needs help they are willing to put on gloves and sift through bags and bags just to find a passport receipt. Not all managers have this type of leadership and respect so it's rare and special.
Also, want to focus on the staff and team that could say yes, or even volunteer to help by putting on gloves and sifting through bags of garbage helping us. For employees to say yes and agree to help like that is truly rare and special, and just a beautiful part of humanity with kindness.
We looked for over 30 minutes and was not able to find the tiny receipt, and when we was leaving, they actually said they were sorry not being able to find it, as if to say how much they cared and how important it was. I was in tears filled with love, joy, hope, grateful and thankful. I'll never forget this day this moment and this staff who forever made the world a better place ♥️
I hope upper management sees this review and considers honoring Ed and his staff with a special recognition award and even a pay increase.
Best restaurant experience of my life. 10/10 will...
Read moreHigh chairs are disgusting make sure if you come here with babies you bring your own sanitizer wipes. They are sticky all over. The syrup was completely sticky wherever you touched it it wasn’t cleaned off from the last table. You can tell the tables we not how they used to be because the door opens up behind a row of tables to the outside “patio” if you can call it that. You have to go through a booth seat to get to this door. It’s a little funny how they cheaply set it up. They should definitely hire someone that cleans better. I think it would make this whole experience 5x better to have non sticky everything.
The good part : our meal was less than our local Waffle House down south, they gave us more bacon than we are used to. And our server was really sweet when she was finally assigned. I don’t think it was her fault she took so long because the “greeter” that gave us sticky menus and silverware and straws was the one that took a very long time. Food was also great. Bacon cooked to perfection. Eggs really good. They accidentally put ham in my hash browns but it was good so I didn’t mind.
And WE GOT A PREDATORY boot on our car in the Waffle House parking lot that apparently is not associated with Waffle House so I can’t blame them one bit but just so everyone is aware you have to pay and walk all the way down the lot to pay at a machine! The company is “PPE” and it cost $75!!!! For 20 minutes of parking! We had to call and they sent someone out to take the boot off in an inconspicuous car. Super predatory and disgusting. Oh and don’t think you’ll use your Amex to pay for it. They don’t take Amex 😂 they don’t want to pay the Amex fees out of their greedy money. Whew if I could review that parking lot. I can’t imagine making a living off immobilizing people that are eating at WAFFLE HOUSE. Most likely needing a cheaper meal and then they tack on a $75 fee to come take it off. Yuck. Once again NOT WAFFLE HOUSE fault but I feel like they got duped by building next...
