Visited for the first time last week while the Cabbagetown location was under a brief reno for the 24/7 conversion, and it was just as comfortable and well-designed as the other Switchyards locations I've been to. The Clubguide did a great job of setting me up to know where to enter and where to park, and I love the meeting rooms! Didn't have a need for them yet, but the option being available is amazing.
I only really have two areas for improvement on this space: first, I loved the West Cape Chai tea that was available at Cabbagetown, and would love to see that available here as well. Second, and this actually extends to the now-bookable phone booths in other locations too, but I suspect having the small screens that display upcoming reservations for a room/booth would be super helpful. Especially for the booths that used to be first-come-first-serve, knowing "this one is actually free" and being able to hop in when I get a call would be so helpful. Plus I'd hate to have to interrupt someone who didn't realize the booth/room was booked if it was occupied when my...
Read moreOur startup has had an office at Switchyards since August 2018. Unlike a regular co-working space, it's the vision and mission behind Switchyards that is most compelling and that creates a sense of community and purpose that cannot be found elsewhere in the city.
As Switchyards founder Michael Tavani says, Switchyards is not a co-working space. It's not just a bunch of self-employed folks and small companies who need office space but have little else in common. With the goal of making Atlanta a leader in consumer and design-focused startups, Switchyards is intentional in every way, from the companies and individuals who self-select to become members to the regular events (Made in Atlanta, The Consumer Show) and the design of the building and spaces within it.
Switchyards holds a key place in Atlanta's startup environment, and I like that it is constantly evolving to better meet its members' needs and to continue to provide a venue where B2C startups can grow and thrive in Atlanta.
Bonus: the Made in Atlanta events hosted at Switchyards have some of the BEST...
Read more5.0 | Downtown Switchyards Club is nice. it doesn’t get enough love from me as I don’t like to commute in the heart of Downtown if I don’t have to and pay for parking, but this is a sweet spot that employs a lot of the aesthetic and arrangement of all the spaces. it has the quiet cubicles like Decatur, and the openness and layout of Cabbagetown. only thing I didn’t see was a phone booth, which makes sense given there are so many open areas and people took calls quietly in their own little spaces. I thought the openness would make me feel a bit unfocused but it didn’t. I like this location, and will likely make more effort to come here as it feels a lot less crowded and open, with enough lounge and desk space for everyone to own an area...
