The other night I got booted in the lot in front of Trader Joes. I blame the business owners for this. I had come early, around 6pm to see Lamb at the theater (which was playing at 7pm); parked in that lot near Trader Joes, initially. My friend wanted to go get ice cream; I wanted coffee; so we got the idea to go get ice cream at a store close by, and then come back, get coffee. We went to the ice cream place, but there was a line, so we left sans ice cream, immediately came back to Starbucks (10 minutes had elapsed), then went to Trader Joes, then when I got back to my car, it was booted. I told the woman I shopped there, and she said, "We know... we saw you." But that was irrelevant next to their collecting that $75. I'm never going to the Promenade again -- I only go to (1) Support Landmark theater, which looks like it needs the business (sincerely!); (2) I like Metro Fresh's healthy food; (3) At random times, it's convenient to go to the Starbucks and/or Trader Joes; (4) On rare occasions, I go to Mellow Mushroom. I probably spend about $50 to $100 / week at that mall, which adds up to about $2,500 to $5,000 /...
Read moreMIDTOWN PROMENADE WILL NOW CHARGE YOU $85 for PARKING!!!
I have been going to Midtown Promenade for years. recently, they have started charging for parking. They say that the first two hours is free if you register. I did; when I spent a little longer hanging out with friends, I tried to figure out how to extend my parking and it seemed impossible.
They have a camera that takes photos of your plate as you go in and out. Two weeks after I spent 2.5 hours at the bar, I got a bill in the mail for EIGHTY-FIVE DOLLARS. The very threatening language said that if I paid the mailed notice immediately, it would only cost me $25, but if not, they would send an $85 bill to a debt collector.
This is absurd. I am fine paying with parking, but every other place makes it easy to extend parking for longer than two hours, and $85 is an absurd charge--frankly, even the $25 they are trying to charge me now is incredibly excessive for parking at a bar during the week.
I love Midtown Art and the Independent, but sadly will not be going there again as long as Asana Partners is using this Professional Parking...
Read moreIm from Atlanta. I've spent tons of money at this shopping center. I've shopped at nearly every restaurant/store from the pool hall to Trader Joe's to taking my son to the orthodontist. Today, I parked in the back of the property bc I couldn't find parking in the lot. It was also a convenient spot near the entrance to the dog shop where I went. The curb near where I parked had yellow on it, but not where my car was. There wasn't a no parking sign. I returned to my car booted. If parking was not allowed in that location, there should be a sign or the yellow on the curb should have been continued.. it makes me less likely to return when I've spent thousands...
