Mellow Mushroom Midtown – Pizza, Vibes, and Good Times If you haven’t hit up Mellow Mushroom Midtown yet, what are you even doing? This spot has been slinging the best pizza in ATL for nearly 30 years, and they’re still absolutely crushing it. Our host Jack (Jackson) was on point—super chill, knew the menu inside out, and hooked us up with some top-tier recommendations. The dough is next level, the toppings are premium, and the flavors? Straight-up legendary. Plus, they’ve got gluten-free and vegan options so no one’s missing out. The location is prime—right in the heart of Midtown, just minutes from the World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and more. Whether you’re a student at Georgia Tech, GSU, or SCAD, or just looking for a go-to pizza spot, this place delivers. And let’s talk drinks—22 draft beers, handcrafted cocktails, and a vibe that’s always on point. Perfect for pre-gaming, post-class hangs, or just kicking back with your crew. Need to feed the squad? Their catering game is strong. Bottom line: If you’re looking for killer pizza, good energy, and a solid hangout spot in ATL, Mellow Mushroom Midtown is where it’s at. Pull up and thank me later

We like coming here but last visit (today) was marginal at best. I would give it less than 3 stars for our visit today, but since we've never had a problem before this visit I'll stick with a 3 star. Our server Cole was a great guy; great service, etc, but pizza was burned and we didn't have time to reorder (though he did ask us if we wanted to reorder). We had the House pizza, with bacon and meat and ham and all the veggies, and it is probably normally good, but it was burned and very greasy. I also think Cole misunderstood when we asked how much a pitcher was when we were ordering beer, we just wanted a glass each but we were brought a pitcher. Bruschetta for appetizer was good, but we'd rather have more of the glaze ON the bruschetta instead of trying to make it look cute and artsy and swirled all over the plate. It may look swell on the food network, but it sure isn't easy to scrape glaze off a plate with toast that has tomatoes on it. I'm sure we'll come back sooner or later, but we won't rush back.

The pizza at this restaurant was excellent — hot, flavorful, and definitely worth coming back for. Unfortunately, the service was another story, and it completely ruined the experience for me. Our server stepped outside onto the patio to play with a dog and refill its water bowl. That in itself wasn’t an issue, but what happened next was. He immediately came back inside, picked up someone’s food, and served it to their table without washing his hands. I was utterly disgusted. Considering the importance of hygiene in food service, this felt unacceptable. When I asked for our to-go boxes, I made a point of asking him to wash his hands first. No guest should ever have to remind their server of such a basic standard. The manager should review the cameras to see how often this server actually washes his hands — because what I witnessed was alarming. Great pizza, but until cleanliness and proper food-handling practices are taken more seriously, I won’t feel comfortable dining here again.

I went to this franchise location for an evening of relaxation and good food, however that was not my experience. I was greeted by a welcoming hostess who cleared the booth, and seated us immediately. My companion and I then sat, and waited for about 10 minutes for our server to come, and take our order. (We secretly saw the manager talking to two servers trying to convince them to take our table) Now the time was 8:30 pm, and I am aware that they close at 10, but I assumed that we would still have impeccable service at whatever time it was. Finally, the manager convinced Sean (msp) to take our table, and he came over to take our drink order. My friend ordered a Sweet Tea, and I ordered a glass of Riseling. Sean did inform me that they had run out of Riseling over the weekend, but that he would check on it and let me know. My friend tasted his tea, and was not pleased with the taste. He beckoned for Sean to come over, and informed him that he would like another drink. Sean began to argue with him, and ask him what was wrong with the tea. My friend finally said, I just don't like it, and could I have a lemonade. Sean took our order, and dropped the lemonade on the table on the way out the door for a smoke break. I beckoned for the manager to come over because it looked as if Sean was leaving. She informed us that he had stepped out for a minute, and that he would return. She did however send over another server who I asked again about the Riseling. This server went over to the bar, and did not return or look at our table again. The last straw for my friend, and I was when Sean returned from his smoke break, and went straight into the kitchen without washing his hands. We kindly collected our things after seeing that , and we proceeded to leave. However as we were leaving, Sean comes over to us asking us where we were going. I informed him that I had been there thirty minutes waiting on my Riseling, and then he says to me that he told me that they had run out over the weekend, and would I like something else. I informed him that piece of information would have been good oh thirty minutes ago when I originally ordered my drink. My friend spoke to the manager, who was unapologetic. I noticed that the servers had little to no respect for her. I called back the next day to speak with the manager, and she placed me on hold. And did not return. I will not be dining at this establishment in the future. I am very shocked at the behavior because I have had excellent service here in the past. I guess this is what happens under...

Me and my Fiancé went here for lunch, and we left with a very disappointing experience. The server Lukas was very polite, but I can’t say the same for Natalie the “manager”.

We ordered a pitcher of beer and our server asked if we would like two glasses. When brought out it was two glasses or beer, not a pitcher. (In my experience when you order a pitcher the server asks how many glasses you want with that, and we said two)

We notified the server of the misunderstanding, and that we wanted a pitcher of beer. He was polite and apologized for the misunderstanding. He told us that he “would bring us a pitcher, and do you just want me to leave the two pints for y’all”. We said yes, thinking we obviously wouldn’t be charged for that mistake.

As we were finishing up our pitcher and about to leave we noticed the check had charged us for both the pints and the pitcher. (Obviously we would have told the server to take the two mistaken pints back if we thought they would charge us for that)

The server then went back to see if he could get manager approval to take the two pints off of the check. He did come back with the adjusted check, but then proceeded to remove the remainder of our pitcher of beer (about two beers remaining in pitcher) and told us his manager Natalie said we could finish the pitcher to make up for the two pints we were not charged for.

My Fiancé and I both asked to talk with the manager. (You would think in a customer services industry they would have reacted to the misunderstanding a bit different). “The manager” Natalie was extremely rude to the both of us, said some disrespectful word, turned her back on the both of us and decided to discontinue the conversation.

Advice: find a manager willing to provide quality conflict resolution because Natalie did not hold any positive quality I would seek in a manager. GET BETTER!

I love Mellow Mushroom, but I will never go back to this location. I will drive the extra mile to go to one of the two other locations...

Don't bother coming to this joint. The manager/bartender named Jude is rude, extremely inhospitable and a blatantly ornery person. This attitude trickles down to her employees, the ambiance and honestly, the quality of the pizza itself. To make a long story short... We came in to eat some pies on a pretty dead night and already had to wait over 15 minutes just to get waters for the table. From the start the service seemed to be slow and lacking. We asked our server if one of the 4 TVs in the restaurant (which were playing baseball) could be switch to show Monday Night Football. The servers continued to give us some strong attitude and multiple excuses as to why they thought the TVs wouldn't be able to be changed. After waiting 10 mins for our question to be answered we asked again if they had found out if it could happen and we were told by an employee that the manager Jude was most likely going to come over and give us attitude. So we asked to speak with manager Jude directly. After waiting more than 45 mins or longer manager Jude finally came to our table and gave us the ridiculous excuse that there was no way any of the TVs could be changed to Monday Night Football because of a power outage the day before that had made the TVs all (conveniently) stuck on the same channel showing baseball. Mind you, Jude wore a baseball bandana a-top her head. We proceeded to watch Monday Night Football on our phone since the pizza had finally been brought out. Yet we continued to be accosted by the servers with attitude and could not eat in peace. Stay away from this location and Rude Jude. The Mellow Mushroom locations in College Park as well as Downtown are run by much nicer people and have better quality...
