Extremely rude staff and will not be back!
Came to pick up an online pick-up and was immediately greeted by a chilly reception from the staff. This was the general tone they kept towards me during the few minutes for my order. The associate that handed me my items didn't exchange any pleasantries or offer so much as a "Thanks for shopping with us, have a good day!" Even after I said "Thank you." On the way out, I passed about 3-4 associates (with a Sephora bag in my hand, so obviously I was a customer). No one said anything to me, including the initial rude associate I passed coming in, who looked right at me, but then proceeded to tell the customer coming behind me to "Have a good day!"
You would think I did something personal to offend these people! But no, I was simply a customer that came in to pick up an order. I came in with my own southern manners ("Hello, how y'all doing? I'm here to pick up an order.") and did not deserve such cold treatment, especially when I saw them being warm with other customers at the time. And personally, what was most disappointing of all is that the majority of the staff were Black women. As a Black male, these type of negative interactions hurts a bit more when someone of your own color are the ones repsonsible.
I haven't been to a Sephora in quite some time (usually buy my skincare from Amazon these days) but I was previously a VIB Rouge member and frequented the store in Tampa, Florida near my hometown. The staff there was always extremely kind and a few of them knew me by name. Even at other Sephora stores, they are usually nice, pleasant, and accommodating. To go from that, to this, was a jarring experience and honestly, might single handedly turn me off from going to another Sephora store for the forseeable future. A positive interaction may very well have had the opposite effect (starting to go back to Sephora after a long hiatus).
I've been to many Sephora stores but this was easily the most uncomfortable I've ever felt in one. From a simple customer service perspective, it was a huge letdown for me. Pleass do better at this location and be nice to ALL...

1.) Ask for Le if you get the chance, she will meet you where youre at and guide you thoughfully the rest of the way!
2.) The rest of the staff had an atmosphere of lively and fun but no one was standing around - they were there to help anyone and everyone that came in that store. I wasn't made to feel like a burden for asking a question and that means the world to me. š
3.) These guys were busy on a weekeday and still moving people through the lines, it was a smooth experience!
After receiving a text alert that my service had been cancelled, I came in to see if I could still have help. The lady that greeted me (whose name I shamefully didn't catch - she had rhinestones on her long-sleeve shirt) reassured me immediately that no matter what, they'd see to my needs as best they could. The resulting experience was better than I could have asked for, and I'm so grateful she put me in Le's hands!!
I was tired and inarticulate, but Le asked a series of thoughtful and to-the-point questions. These pinpointed what I was looking for, what I could handle and immediately, she set up a gameplan for me to follow and thoroughly tested products to get me the best fit for my skin and lifestyle. She maintained strict hygiene protocol throughout the service as well.
By the end of my appointment, I had more products than I came in for, under the budget I'd set for my original goal, and she'd not just done my makeup but showed me how to replicate it. I'm both confident I can recreate the look (with practice of courseāØļø) and confident that everything I bought is something I'm going use and enjoy.
It's hard to buy nonessentials without buyer's remorse, and to learn things when you don't know where to start. What I anticipated being a trial, Le turned into a fun, interactive experience where I could learn without being made to feel dumb. I called a week ago because my husband purchased me a gift card for Motherās Day. Iād been eyeing the TOM FORD body shimmer for some time and I was going to use the card to purchase it. To my surprise; the day before I went to use it in the app, someone had already taken the money off and made two online purchases with MY CARD! I found this out from customer service. Customer service directed me to call the store because there was nothing they could do about it. Terrible! I called the store and the first associate hung up on me when I expressed my concerns. I called back and asked to speak to the manager. The supervisor or manager NICK came to the call. He seemed very annoyed that I had an issue with my gift card and was very dismissive about my concern. He said there was nothing they can do about my stolen money/ gift card balance and said heās never heard of this happening with Sephora EVER! (Funny because I went to Reddit and guess what, this is an on going thing with employees stealing the information on the in store gift cards in Sephora.) He sent me back to customer service. This is when I learned there were two online transactions. Originally I just knew the dates. Today 2 weeks after Iāve called and emailed regional managers, no one have contacted me to resolve this. So weāre out of money and it is just terrible. Although my amount wasnāt nearly as much as some of the horror stories I read on Reddit, money is money and theft is THEFT! Sarah did say she would send my concern up to loss prevention which gives me hope. But just as I told her āthis is YOUR STORE. Your responsibility to protect your customers and if there is shady employees, itās a direct reflection of you and your management.ā I truly hate to write reviews itās sooo āKarenā however NICKās dismissive approach...
