We have been going here about once a week since they opened. We have only ever been here early on a week day but our experience seems to be very similar to people there during the peak busy hours. Long story short, less than stellar food, service, experience, but it's location will probably keep it busy.

Timing/busy-ness: We usually will visit around 8:30am on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Usually only us and one or two other tables are there. We have never had to wait for a table, as I would expect. The first few weeks they were doing table service which was a little sub par in promptness with a lot of servers standing around, but we understood that they were still finding their groove. They then switched to counter service which was easy enough.

Service: Once you find a table they will bring you some water and then that's the last you'll see of that person. Food is brought out as it's cooked, which is weird for this type of food and the fact that there is. You'd think the chefs would be able to time all the food to come out at the same time. Sometimes we'll have eaten our entire meal before the last side is brought to us. Also, good luck getting a coffee refill or anyones attention for that refill. Once the food runner drops your food they quickly move out of your vicinity and no one that works there will look in your direction, they all sit at the front counter or back kitchen window talking amongst themselves.

Food: Since this place is in Ponce City Market I expect it to be a premium price point, but the food definitely does not meet even basic quality, much less premium. I've ordered the pancakes twice. One time there was a large piece of fully cooked egg white inside the pancake, like they didn't fully mix the batter before putting it on the grill. The second time the pancake was just shy of raw. Again, this was all very early when they were not busy. You'd think the kitchen would have enough time to full mix/cook the pancakes. They did have the Impossible burger for a hot minute, which was good, but they stopped serving it for some reason. The waffle and fried chicken are ok too.

Summary: I really want this place to be a mainstay, the branding and interior are so thoughtfully designed. And it seems that a lot of their issues (service staff, service model, food quality) are all fixable things but it seems they do not read these reviews as they all consistently have the same issues (wait too long, food sub par for price etc). Simply put, if you're going to wait in an 1+ long line for breakfast, might as well go to Home Grown in Cabbagetown. You'll get much better food, for a much more reasonable price and they have prompt...

I wanted to write to share what a wonderful experience my group had at Pancake Social this past Sunday. I was hosting a conference for Emory & Georgia Tech for a group of 20 educators from around the country and we wanted to spend Sunday showing them around Atlanta. I reached out to Landon a few months ago to see if coming for brunch from 9:30-11am with this many folks might be possible (knowing how popular/busy y’all are) and he was incredibly accommodating and enthusiastic. I admit, knowing the challenges restaurants face these days in hosting events on a tight schedule, I was still a little nervous about how everything would work when we arrived, but it was perfect from the moment we walked in the door.

Landon had reserved plenty of space for our group. He was generous in letting folks sit inside or outside depending on their comfort level with COVID precautions (as I am pregnant, I especially appreciated this kindness). Shar took amazing care of the group at my table (she had us cracking up the whole time too!). Makayla was outstanding as well and made the payment process as seamless as possible, even though we were at three different (two inside and one outside).

Although I am sure the entire restaurant team worked extra hard as a result of us being there and on a specific schedule, we never felt like a burden. Everyone seemed thrilled to have us and so many guests in our group commented on how impressed they were by the kindness and hospitality exhibited. And, as if this were not enough, I don’t feel like I can do justice in this email to the delicious food! It really was a perfect experience and the best way to kick off this visit in Atlanta. I’m very grateful to Landon, Shar, Makayla and their entire team for everything that they did! And thank you to all of you for bringing Pancake...

Wow, this was probably the worst experience as a customer at a restaurant ive eve had. and i never write reviews. ive never went to a restaurant and been treated like this. hostess went to seat us at a table and the booth next to it had a few things to clean up. We asked for the booth instead as seemed like a little better place to be, having no idea what was to come. The hostess told us we would have to wait till they cleaned it up. then asked us to back to the front. we obliged with no problem, thankful if they could clean the other table and seat us. could tell at that point there was some kind of attitude from her though. she went on to ignore us for about 15 min and no one cleaned the table as we waited. she then started to order the staff at the front to not seat anyone that asked for another table. they were slow on hostessing she scolded them and pretty much yelled as she ordered them to tell anyone like this they had to wait. we tried to bit our tongues and just wait for the table to be cleaned still. but after about another 10 min of us trying to wait for them to clean up the table and nothing from anyone, we finally asked the hostess if they would clean it soon and she said angrily she told us we would have to wait. it was super hot out and we had searched from one side of the other to find this place and really wanted a good brunch experience here. instead i had the rudest experience ever as a customer. we decided we had to leave after being treated like this. as we headed out, she told us sarcastically to have a great day. so crazy and rude. being local in Altanta I will never go near this restaurant again. and would warn you to stay away unless u want to go to a place you will leave feeling upset and terrible from.tbis is not how your...

I don't even LIKE pancakes and these blew me away. My friend invited me here for brunch, claiming it was one of her favorite spots at Ponce City Market. It was a good thing we got here early because it seems many others in the area think similarly. Despite the name, there's a good variety of brunch items available, including a few non-breakfast items. But I couldn't come to a place that calls itself the 'Pancake Social' without ordering a pancakes, so I got myself a small stack of the blueberry buttermilk pancakes. They are - in a word - delectable. Even before I allowed any syrup pours, I knew these were some of the best pancakes I'd ever had. I'd also ordered a side of grits, which turned out to be the best grits I've ever tasted in a restaurant. I ordered them without cheese, yet they were incredibly savory and creamy. My only complaint was that there was far too little of it; I wanted an entire bowlful more and unashamedly scraped my little shallow plate clean. The service we got from Kenya was warm, friendly, with just enough check-ins without being overbearing. The food came out more quickly than we anticipated and the service was incredibly efficient, but we never felt pressured to vacate our seats. On a Sunday morning, we were told the wait for a table would be about thirty minutes, but it ended up being far less. There are also few al fresco tables right outside for those preferring to dine outdoors under the awning. HIGHLY recommend for pancake and brunch lovers.
