We went there this Saturday with a group of 7. The wait, I was told, was 30-45 minutes. We were not surprised and did not care about waiting because many of the group walked around because the location is great. At 40 minutes there was one 4 top available and two 4 tops next to each other available outside. I asked if we could take the two next to each other and the host said there was a couple waiting since 5pm. They say in one of the 4 tops next to each other, rather than the separate 4 top that was by itself. On top of that, that couple checked in after us as we were talking to each other outside. I asked the host why we couldn't have sat on the two tables outside and she said that couple came before us. I let her know that they did not and then asked even if they did why could they have not sat on the one by itself. She then changed her story and said I didn't ask for outside seating. This gets fuzzy...I did not ask, but I assumed if not asking was not default inside seating. She also did not ask for a preference. I asked about it and I also said she didn't ask me either. Her story changed again with, they do not try to sit more than 5 at a table outside. By now it is not that busy and we could have sat outside. The manager now called for us to seat us and said nothing. We were ready and ordered drinks for all 7 adults and kids and two appetizers. The waitress was good. Drinks came and our dinner orders were taken. 15 minutes later our mains came out. I asked about the apps. The waitress put her hand on her head and then went to the computer, punched some stuff in, and came back and said the apps were not brought out but she just fired them. That which some of us know is code for I forgot. Not a big deal, it happens, but we all were talking about the cheese curds all day. Those came out soon after. All food was good. We still paid for the late/forgotten app and gave more than a 20% tip, but I did not enjoy being lied to multiple times and the waitress even said it...

Shopping on Main Street on a rainy day, I decided to grab a drink while waiting for my mom. We came across Tap City Grille and walked in. It was a little busy, but there was no host, no bartender, and just a couple of servers around. Only two guests were at the bar. After waiting a few minutes with no greeting, I went to the bathroom hoping someone would appear by the time I returned—but still, no host, no bartender. I eventually left to find my mom.
She suggested giving Tap City another try and said, “let’s sit at the bar,” to which I responded, “if there’s someone there.” When we returned, a kid at the door told us we could sit at the bar, but once again—no bartender. Someone else mentioned she had gone to the liquor room. After several minutes, she finally came back (with no bottles in hand) and an attitude on her face. She plopped one menu in front of my mom and said, “how are you?” Unfortunately, my mom replied “not great,” to which I told her to just ignore it.
When I tried to order a beer, the bartender muttered under her breath to my mom, “we are NOT starting like this.” At that point, I snapped and yelled back before walking out—not before apologizing to the host for my reaction.
The service was absolutely terrible and completely unprofessional. A simple “sorry for the wait” could have changed the entire situation. I understand it can be tough when it’s busy, and I’m sure there are other good bartenders who work here, but this was unacceptable.
For context, I’ve worked in the service industry as a bartender, server, and manager, and I never speak to staff disrespectfully. But this crossed a line.

Read moreI am never giving 1 star review , always try to see the advantages and disadvantages, this time I had the worst experience ever. We were visiting cape for couple of days, on one of the days we decided to visit a tap city grille as a recommended restaurant (was recommended by bayside resort). We called 15 min before and asked the host if its a family friendly place and if we need to get any reservation, the host told us that’s no reservation is required and there even kids meals, as soon as drove in and entered the place, we understood that it’s a bar (which is fine by us) and doesn’t look too much of a family oriented, nevertheless we expected for the host to come and seat us exactly as was promised 15 min ago by phone (we told the host it will take us 10-15 min to drive in), the host must not expected that we will have a 4 years old and 2 more kids much older , he looked strangely at us and immediately went somewhere , when he come back he surprised us - he told us “sorry, but the waiting line is more then 90 min” , obviously there was no one waiting. We approached to him back and asked him “why did he tell us by phone to drive in” - his response was - “sorry, it was my mistake”. To my opinion it’s not a mistake and was clear discrimination, furthermore there was no list and no one waiting, you can judge by yourself. Note he repeated again that it’s a mistake but there is still a 90 min waiting line even when we told him that it’s not acceptable and we...
