ADDICTING - My girlfriend asked me to try a class out with her at this location before we both departed to our jobs in the morning. I have always thought it weird that they have their entire studio orange and I think this may have deterred me from trying this earlier. Think of their theory like a competitive video game! When you check in you get a heart rate monitor and you are placed on a scoreboard where you and everyone else can see it. You then got through segments of HIIT high intensity interval training to get your heart racing in no time flat. The goal is to get your targeted heart rate and to stay that way throughout the entire class session. You may be asked to run or row or any other items that they have for the class. We also cycled. If you go to their website and type in your zip code you can choose to book a free session. That is what I did in order to try it out. Our class was taught by Jen, and I can't say enough about her enthusiasm and energy. She kept me pumped even when I wanted to dump off the side of the treadmill. I generally hate cardio and this was a way to make it fun since it brings out a bit of competitive side if you are into that sort of thing. The costs for packages were fairly pricey considering other gym options. If I were to choose to continue I would pick the smaller packages of 4 or 8 drop in classes a month. I can't say about other locations, but at the location it seems like classes are held almost every hour and the first class of the day that my girlfriend and I took was as early as 5 am. This isn't for those who are on a budget, but its seems like a great way to get fit if you have extra cash or are just looking for a way to jump-start a routine - they don't have ongoing commitments - it's month to...
Read moreOn Tuesday, July 1, 2025, I called this Orange Theory Bellevue location and left a voice message at about 7:30am to inquire about doing an introductory class. I never received a return call. Then I stopped into this orange theory location at about 11:00am with a friend who is an Orange Theory member based on his recommendation that I should give it a try as this is a nation-wide brand and a membership could be a good fit for me at home and while traveling for work. On the window of their Bellevue facility, there is an advertisement stating a free introductory class was being offered. I went in and four ladies (it seemed they were coaches, a desk clerk, and a manager) were chatting at the reception desk. I guess they had been too busy to return my call from over three hours earlier? I politely stated I was there to take the offered free introductory class. They said âgreat.â One of the staff asked me my occupation and if I lived locally and I told them my occupation and that I did not live locally. She turned to the manager, who in my opinion was not all that friendly, and she said since I did not live locally I would have to pay for an introductory class. Instead of arguing with them about their false advertising on their window which did not say anything about living locally and pointing out that their actions would likely lose me as a prospective Orange Theory client/member based on the interaction I had with them, I politely said âno thank youâ and left. I will not be going to any Orange Theory at any location in the future based on this one experience! I was actually excited to give the nation-wide brand a try and to see if it was right for me to become a member. I have my answer:...
Read moreI have been coming here twice a week for two months already. So far so good. Lost 10 lb or so.
Pluses: high intensity cardio workouts, supportive coaches with positive attitude, nice music selection and plenty of morning and evening options on the schedule to choose from. I have been doing 3G, a mix of three stations in rotation: rowing machine, weight floor (dumbbells, TRX, steps) and treadmill. Great if your goal is to lose some weight and/or work on cardio and endurance.
Neutral: mask on policy with a proof of vaccination or a negative test on hands. They do not use all stations they have, assigning people to every other station, which helps with crowd control a bit.
Potential minuses: workouts can get monotonous over time, lack of âjust weightsâ options. They introduced something called Lift not so long ago, havenât tried it yet to share my personal impression. Good thing to have to break the usual cardio routine if you can reserve a spot well in advance.
PS something that I forgot about but worth mentioning. They offer heart rate monitors to rent or purchase to help you stay above your normal heart rate level to ensure increased metabolism after workout. Used it once and decided that if one can push himself, thereâs no need in having this device. Although, it can come handy as an additional stimulus to stay out of the comfort zone or if concerned about potential...
