Edit: the Shade Store arrived to finish the job, only to discover that the measurements for the shade are incorrect. This means we have to re-order the shade and wait another full month before it can be installed. It will be over two months of waiting and THREE installation attempts from the time we ordered to when they are installed, assuming the third time is the charm. Also, the owner responded to my review here, saying he wants to help make this better, but there is nothing he can do he says when I interacted with him over email. If these were cheaper shades I would be more understanding, but still we paid a premium for the shades and installation services our expectations were much higher
The low rating is for the scheduling team and wait time for installation services.
We ordered our shades in August, and was told it is a minimum wait time of 4 weeks to get them installed due to manufacturing. We set an appointment for September 18.
Well, manufacturing was super fast because we got our shades within one week of ordering.
We asked The Shade Store if there was any earlier installation slots since our shades had arrived in August shortly after we ordered -â: we didnât want to wait a month for installation. We paid close to $1000 dollars just for installation (15% of total shade price). I donât think there was any attempt to reschedule our installation for an earlier slot, because we received what seemed like a default response of âno you are booked for the earliest slot availableâ.
Well, we wait 4 weeks with our shades collecting dust in our garage, and once installation day arrives (September 18), the installer doesnât arrive at the scheduled window. Keep in mind we paid close to $1000 for installation. Our schedule for the entire day was ruined because we had to sit around waiting for the installation team when they never even showed up at the designated time window we set.
Finally, we get a call and find out that Instead the installer has to come at 6pm that evening. We were in the middle of dinner and he finally arrived, and he was able to install some of the shades but didnât finish the job because he needed a second installer with him to do the rest. The scheduling team didnât schedule him with the right amount of help that was needed to finish the job. Why are we paying such a premium for installation and it isnât even resourced properly or completed in a timely manner?
Now we have to wait another few weeks for scheduling to find the right team to do our installation job.
We also didnât receive any proactive communication from the scheduling team. I had to initiate a email and call to them to find out when we would be rescheduled for. If I never had called, I would not even know when we were rescheduled for or if our shades would ever be completed.

My experience with this store and especially with the designer DuVonne Preisler warrants a strong warning.
We spent over $10,000 on window treatments, expecting a premium product and service. Unfortunately, we received neither. Despite specifically requesting completely blackout shades, significant light leaks from the sides due to poor design choices and inadequate guidance. When I raised my concerns, DuVonne placed the blame on me for not visiting the showroom in person â despite the fact that I had been to a showroom in another state and have previously placed orders with the company.
As someone new to Roman shades, I wasnât aware of the side-gap issue. A knowledgeable, client-focused designer wouldâve anticipated this and either recommended a different product or adjusted the design (e.g., wider shades or supplementary solutions). Instead, DuVonne dismissed my concerns and offered a sales pitch â suggesting I purchase additional stationary drapes to fix a problem that could have been avoided in the first place.
The issues didnât stop there: one window was incorrectly measured, and now a remake is required. It took over a month for the first installation â who knows how long the second one will take?
I had a fantastic experience with this company in Arizona, which is why I returned. But this time around, the service and professionalism fell drastically short. He found that the ordered side tracks are missing from the package, so I have to wait for another package delivered for the side tracks. Itâs been over a week but I didnât receive any update from the post sales team. I called 3 times, last week they told me they will send me an email to schedule the installation within 40 hours. However, today they told me they are waiting for the size before placing the order, and no ETA for that. Iâm so disappointed for the whole experience. Not recommended as the experience doesnât match the price.
More updates here â I called many times during the weeks for the missing side tracks. They always mentioned they will send an email for scheduling the installation, but I never received it. I also tried to reach out the customer service leadership through email, but also no reply yet. I payed several hundreds for the side tracks and thousands for the shades; however itâs causing more trouble than satisfaction. All I want now is getting the side tracks installed and never buy anything...
