I'm writing this review so the owner or the manager reads this review and make some changes. As my family own small business, I understand how important these reviews are for your business so I dont usually write any bad reviews. But this trip to Belle pasty today was so bad, I had to say somehing to the managements. Belle pastry is one of the reason why I enjoy driving 30-40minutes of driving time to the Bellevue. Cozy atmosphere, comfortable parking and amazing desserts are something that always brought me back to Belle pastry. Because I love this place , I try to act politely when I order, and to the people around my table. Bus, pick up crumbs, putting the chair back if I borrowed one from other table. When I went there today, the person who took order was rude. Rushing to order and sounded something like "are you gonna order or what?". I felt like I was at the fast-food chain in NY. When we were in the middle of the conversation with my friends, other lady who were cleaning other table interrupted and said " Can you put the chair back?" In a not polite way. So when we were done we put a chair back, wipe the table, bus ourselves. As we were leaving, the same lady who told us to put the chair back was making coffee and said something like " oh they didn't put the chair back like I asked" . Is it customers job to remember which table should have 2 chair not 3? Is it so important that customers should be reminded when they are in the middle of the conversation? What did do to deserve that kind of customer service? Makes me hesitant to go back to this place again because of such bad experience and rudeness. I really want to go back and enjoy cup of coffee, good dessert without me worrying am I going to face the rudeness again? like I...
Read moreThis is a MIXED REVIEW regarding the service at Belle Pastry. Morning service is 5-Star, however the evening service is barely 1-Star. Last night when I told the counter person (her name was Iliana) I was disappointed that they had started prepping for "close" before they actually closed (paper cups and utensils, limited food availability, cream removed, etc. Her response was, "Well, if you're not happy, you're welcome to go someplace else." I was completely shocked and immediately asked, "What did you just say?" I think she realized her gross customer mistreatment and quickly changed her tune by saying, "I'm sorry, I meant you're welcome to come in earlier," which frankly, wasn't much better than the first thing she said. TWO POINTS: First, there is NEVER an excuse to tell a customer "they can go someplace else," and Second, the actions (and attitudes) by "closing" early makes my wife Cathy and I feel unwelcome when we come in for an after dinner dessert & coffee, especially, if we come in 30 minutes before the actual closing time (and by the way, other pre-closing customers have told us the same thing) . If you close at a specific time, please give customers arriving before that time the same quality treatment as other customers, with real cups, cream out on the counter and food that doesn't have to have the over-night plastic cover removed in order to have it. We pay the same price and should get the same level of service... or, you might consider discounting your prices during your pre-close efforts to off-set the "lessened" experience at an otherwise fine bistro. But for sure, there needs to be an attitude adjustment with some of the evening staff. I get that they're tired and anxious to go home, but that's...
Read moreI think the place is more for a cute experience, rather than great pastries. Read reviews of how good their croissants were, which was my deciding factor. Plus their treats looked amazing! I ordered the napoleon, a shortbread cookie, a chocolate mousse cake, and a blueberry cheese danish. I also ordered the ham and cheese croissant with a hot tea. They messed up my order so I never got to try the croissants. I ended trying the baguettes sandwich, which was good, but not crazy for hard bread on a sandwich. Also it’s not a hot sandwich. The mustard is what made it. All my desserts were meh. I was super disappointed. The mouse was grainy. The danish was not soft or fluffy, and not enough cheese to bread ratio. I didn’t know a napoleon was a cream brûlée cake. Shortbread cookie had this hard jam in it and the cookie wasn’t worth the price. I spent almost $30 in an uber to get there (I didn’t mind because I was really excited), then spent close to $50 there. I waited all day to try the desserts and almost cried when I realized I spent all my splurge money on something that was mid.. Staff was extremely friendly and kind. The place was clean and had a really cute environment. Everything LOOKED amazing, but...
