Came at 3pm to enjoy a birthday date….was refused service because we were not part of a Magic: Gathering that started in the AM. There were clearly spots to sit down but got the vibe that we would disturb the people already there. Did not feel welcome and it is so unfortunate. Please work on your hospitality. Will not return
Edit: thanks Peter for the reply. I do appreciate it. I did see the events on the website, but there’s nothing in there about refusing walk-ins or your business not being open to those not part of MTG or DND.
I wonder if it might be helpful and set clearer expectations if your website/google maps had your business closed on Sundays to the general public/walk-ins due to private events?
Again, there were tables open and available when we came…and no one asked how long we were hoping to stay, nor invited us to be part of the DND event. Since Sundays are one of our only available date days, and we are huge tabletop fans, it is unfortunate that you are unavailable for us to enjoy....
Read moreThe best part is you can pay $5 a person for free play of games they have (pretty much any game they sell they also let people play. They have a huge wall of selection). Free play is AS LONG AS YOU WANT UNTIL THEY CLOSE! So if you go early in the day, you can have an amazing day for a crazy low price.
Great selection of board and tabletop games. Good selection of card games. Small wall dedicated to stuff like DnD and Mtg.
Kids 12 and under have to be accompanied by an adult. There is an tap behind the counter so I'm pretty sure you can order alcohol. They have a few snack things too I think? So some parents night want to accompany their kids all ages layer at night just in case if you care about that sort of thing. I went there mid week early afternoon during the summer and nobody was there playing games. The game area is very spacious though. Lots of long tables, so there's plenty of room...
Read moreThis store is always kept immaculate: clean and shelves in order. They benefit by getting lots of light in from outside and the layout makes the place feel welcoming, even to crowds that don’t normally partake in games. Wide selection from board games/TCG packs, even TTRPG items. But by far the best part is the staff; I’ve yet to have an interaction with them that hasn’t left me more informed about my purchases, and as a result more excited. The recent release of Lorcana is a great example. They let me know about a waiting list for info and gave me the option to pre-purchase certain items, at MSRP and not at double to triple the price as so many shops are doing right now. Modern will be getting my business going forward and I highly encourage everyone...
