The prices are a little high but I can’t even be mad my food was really satisfying, the server was lovely, and they have a unique beer menu
I had a fried cod sandwich with fries and coleslaw. I had not had fried fish in forever and boy was this a welcome back! I believe it was a beer batter. It was very crisp, not too thick and not too greasy. I’m a cole slaw lover and theirs did not disappoint at all! Not too sweet not too mayo-y!
Also was served the carnitas tacos. Although they were falling apart and kind of breaking. They were a great time! I mean it wasn’t for nothing, they were SO STUFFED with toppings and the carnitas. Definitely some of the most generously made tacos. Really good meat to topping ratio if that’s something you think about! They lettuce cheese and tomato were very fresh and cold. The corn tortilla was good quality, very soft.
Their happy hour is a bit insulting though. Only one dollar off beers and like $2 off shared plates. As if 1 or two bucks makes all the difference?
The space is filled with natural light, a bit of an industrial look to it. Especially with the open view of the brewing goin on...
Read moreFood was bland - carnitas/pork burrito (?) largely shredded pork and pineapple bits, and a lot of it, but the salsa / sauce wasn't really flavorful, which didn't help the bland burro filling. I really wanted to like it! Jalapeno poppers, pretty dull execution. Staff were watching tennis competition instead of the 3 tables (11:30-12:00pm on a Saturday), so I wandered up to the bar to ask for a refill - pretty low pressure to keep glasses filled, but hey, tennis! Last, the Cal Common style been I had was really low on carbonation. I'm a huge fan of Anchor Steam, and know that the UPP Liquids crew can nail any style in their sleep, so I can say I was disappointed, but hopeful, that much like this string of reviews, the beer can be attributed to the former version of this spot (Immersion). We're really looking forward to adjustments to the beer over time, since BBC of old still lingers on our minds. Tonya (and the gang) has won awards and recognition of her peers for her talent / skill in the brewhouse, and I'm looking forward to that version of any/all beers being on tap at...
Read moreMenu isn't huge, but food is superb. A chicken sandwich special, loaded with tasty toppings including flawless avocado, is delightfully substantial. The ahi poké is an equally enjoyable selection; from the fish to the radish, ingredients are incredibly flavorful and fresh. Even the tortilla chips carry a wonderful crunch, leaving one curious whether they're made in-house. Varied and agreeable beer options certainly merit a flight. Little Fawn is a solid saison, thoroughly balanced in piquancy and crispness. Bender, a respectable IPA, breaks tradition in its fermentation with Belgian yeast. While this lends it a floral appeal, notes of pine feel familiar to a Pacific Northwesterner. In the heat of the summer, look to its wit-inspired cousin, Heat Wave, for a lighter profile. A stark contrast to the aforementioned brews can be found in the sumptuous malty darkness of Bend Moon Rye'sn. Fire On The Mountain will similarly satisfy those with a heavier taste, though its whiskey barrel-aged status and infusions of pepper provide a particularly unique...
