As someone who stays at Four Seasons quiet often in a number of locations every year, I found this place to be well below the standard to other Four Seasons in terms of hospitality and service. We had a lot of problems with valet service, the only saving grace was the room service staff was great.
Start off with our initial arrival. Our GPS had taken us to the front of the hotel instead of the middle where valet service was suppose to take guests. Understandably that was our mistake we weren't familiar with the area. The greeter at the door approached our car and told us to move along instead of helping us find the proper valet service. He never asked us if we were hotel guests, just told us to move along. Evidently we asked him where was valet service for hotel guests, he told us to go around the corner. Not exactly hospitable with his tone or initial reaction to move, even though we weren't blocking any cars or traffic.
When we did reach the valet area, we waited a good 15 minutes before our car was approached to have us unload our suitcases. I was a bit confused as to the length of time considering there were probably 10+ valet guys, many of them just talking with each other. We weren't the only ones waiting with probably 3 more cars ahead of us. It seemed like 2 or 3 of them were actually working, while others were just chatting up other guests or talking with each other. The gentleman who eventually did help us did a great job.
We went up to freshen up and were going to head out so we texted the phone number on our keycard providing our valet # to have our car pulled. The service responded promptly and said it would be pulled shortly. When we arrived to the bottom of the hotel to receive our car 15 min, it wasn't visibly there. Again with 8+ valet staff members standing around. No one approached us, it wasn't even busy. Even with our valet ticket in hand. We waited a few minutes and then tried to wave down one valet member. Who looked at our ticket, and then hurried off to disappear into their booth. 5 minutes went by, several other peoples cars were pulled, but not ours. We flagged down another valet member since the original was no where to be found, and I told him we had contacted the hotel in advance to have our car pulled and we asked another valet member to retrieve our car. He shrugged his shoulders and flat out said, oh that text service never works, we don't get those messages. He walked away to help other guests arriving without helping us. We then asked a third valet member, who finally asked us the make and model. And said oh we pulled that earlier it's around the corner. He did apologize about the issue several times. At this point we had been waiting nearly 20 minutes for our car outside, and were quite frustrated with experience and making us late to our appointment we had.
We ordered room service a couple times. The food was hot, on-time and the service was great. Probably the only highlight of our stay.
We had mentioned to check in we were going to be using the pull out sofa for our daughter. And then noted on our account someone would be by in the evening to move the heavy tables and make the bed. We came back home at 6PM with the bed not being pulled out yet. We called again for someone to come up. By 6:45PM no one had showed up and I did it myself. The next night it was already made so they did get that right.
When you stay at the four seasons you are paying for the expectation of great service. They might not have the biggest or best rooms, definitely some of the most expensive. But I have always known Four Seasons to have impeccable service from all their employees to go above and beyond. This particular location fell short on a number of occasions. I will still continue to stay at Four Seasons but I will definitely avoid staying at this particular location again. There appears to be other people complain about their valet staff, I do hope they...
Read moreI travelled here in January 2024 with my husband and two children aged 6 and 8 years. We stayed in room 310, which is a suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.||Firstly I would like to give a huge (gigantic!) shoutout to Alex (main desk - manager maybe?) and Seth (concierge) for their “above and beyond” approach to customer care. Truly, nothing was too much trouble for them, and they assisted us with all of our enquiries happily and diligently. We received personalised service and they always remembered our names and who we were. Alex offered us an extremely-reasonably priced upgrade on arrival to a two bedroom / two bathroom option - this was gratefully received (thank you Alex!)||Secondly, I would like to comment on location. This hotel (as many people would be aware) is at the T-intersection where Rodeo Drive meets Wilshire Blvd. The main restaurant, Blvd, has indoors as well as al fresco dining (outdoor area heated in winter), affording glorious views straight down Rodeo Drive. In like kind, some (perhaps many?) of the hotel rooms offer views of Rodeo Drive. There are plenty of high-end shops within walking distance, and lots of things to do. However, for shopping, personally I preferred to get a 5 minute Uber to The Grove, where there are many stores including Nike and Nordstrom. ||The food was absolutely outstanding - we ate at both The Cut (the secondary restaurant) and The Blvd (the main restaurant). Both were exceptional - some of the best food of our lucky lives. The Blvd was reasonably priced for Beverly Hills and offered wonderful (and healthy) options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - all with lovely views.||The rooms themselves and the hotel at large is in a more “heritage” style - still quite modern, but there is still plenty of decor and architecture paying homage to the hotel’s historical roots. Our suite (310) was very large and the bathrooms extremely generous. The master ensuite had a seated makeup table in addition to the main vanity. It also had a bathtub if you have children (or just like baths!)||Everything was at all times immaculately clean, sparkling and shiny.||The pool area was quiet when we were there, but honestly, it’s wonderful that it’s even open and heated to 84F (30C). On the warmer LA days (25C) our kids were very happily able to swim at length (much longer than in a cold pool in the middle of summer!). The jacuzzi runs, I think, at about 40C - a little hot for me but still very nice. The pool is well attended with staff and of course towels, sunscreen etc are provided. I was grateful and happy that the pool was open, because we had just come from the Wynn in Las Vegas where the one pool that opens during winter (in Wynn Tower) was always closed during our stay due to alleged inclement weather. Actually, we barely saw a drop of rain in Vegas, and our kids would have loved the 84F (30C) water no matter what. So, I was grateful that the BW had opened its pool. It means so much to families to have the pool open (and others, I’m sure, too).||If I had to nitpick at something it would be that we got a little surprise at the price of my daughter’s haircut, at $435 USD. However, the hairdresser is a third party sublettor, not connected to Four Seasons. I believe we also had the top stylist (by accident). Due to the fancy location of the hotel, I had expected a little bit of a surprise (maybe $200), but was truly stunned that the bill came in so high. The stylist was lovely and had a wonderful personality, however it remains difficult to reconcile USD $435 with a child’s haircut.||I hope this...
Read moreWe (F-58, F-47, F-5) stayed in a One-Bedroom Corner Beverly Suite Thursday, April 27th, through Saturday, April 29th. It was an extended birthday celebration trip, and I noted that when making the reservation. It was the end of a week-long stay in the California area, and we were there for the shopping and the pool. It ended up being a little more eventful than we thought it would be, and that is why I am posting this review. Fair warning: It is lengthy.
The gentleman who helped us with the check-in process was fantastic (Not just at that moment, but every time we saw him! I wish I remembered his name, because he definitely deserves recognition!), and we decided to upgrade to a corner suite. Our luggage was waiting for us upon our arrival at our suite, and we immediately headed down to the pool for a quick bite. We were in for a bit of sticker shock with the food prices, but we quickly realized this was typical for Beverly Hills luxury hotels, and the food was great. When I ordered a Baybreeze with an extra rum shot, and mentioned a trying travel day as the reason for the extra shot, we were also brought a couple glasses of Prosecco, which was a delightful bonus.
Feeling much more relaxed, we headed upstairs, and when our doorbell rang, a beautiful (and delicious) birthday cake and chocolates were brought in. We snacked on them for the remainder of our stay. My 5-year-old and I headed to the nearby American Girl pop up store in a nearby mall, and she (we) had a wonderful time shopping the current arrivals.
Our ride back was one for the books. We used Uber and Lyft during our stay, and we had a very difficult time finding the pickup location at the mall. As we were running to get to our car in time for them not to leave us, my little one fell, and scraped up her ankle. It was fine by the next day, but very traumatic in the moment, even as she tried her best to be brave. By the time we arrived back at the BW, she was bleeding. I was doing my best to carry her, our bags, and her booster seat, when I realized I was lost in the hotel.
As we headed back to the elevator to go to the lobby for help, Anga with bell services stepped out of the elevator, and became our knight in shining armor. He helped get us to a place to sit down, and Arturo from Guest Services brought a small wheelchair. Once we were safely back in our room with her ankle bandaged, the doorbell rang once again. It was the sweetest teddy bear with a lovely card and a plate of fresh cookies and a glass of milk from Arturo (via Guest Services). My little one was definitely cured by those kindnesses, and very happy to have a new lovie!
The location was perfect! We loved our Rodeo Dr. shopping experience. Walking out and literally crossing the street to shop was exactly what we planned when we made our reservation. The pool, while a little on the smaller side, was definitely adequate for our needs, and not at all crowded. We did dine at Cut, and it was not quite the experience we were expecting, but the staff was very gracious.
The BW accommodations and staff were impeccable, and I cannot recommend them enough! They were professional and kind, and they went above and beyond to make us comfortable. I would definitely vacation...
