Blacksburg Fit Body Bootcamp will absolutely change your life. I have been attending classes off and on since October 2017- I just cant stay away. This is so much more than a gym, its a huge family. The coaches arent there just to tell you what to do through your workout and send you home. They are there to encourage you, challenge you, care for you. They take their time to learn who you are, learn what drives you, to show you that you're more than a number in a class to them. They are always open to a chat whether its fitness related or not. Somehow during our short 30 minutes together they make sure to encourage each of us by name multiple times, check on us all singly, challenge us all singly- in ways they know that work for each of us. I cant say enough good things about the team! The workouts are 30 minutes- high intensity- and WOW THE RESULTS. 30 minutes is so doable, yall' life is BUSY, not all of us have 2 hours to spend at the gym to get results that we want- but somehow these 30 minute workouts give them to you without the extra time. You can squeeze it in on a lunch break, or run quickly before you cook your family dinner- which leads me to another of my favorites- they are SO KID FRIENDLY! They have an area dedicated to the children of Fitbody and are overly welcoming to a busy parent bringing their children! To a single parent, a working parent, a sports parent, or a scouts parent-that feel like we have NO TIME- thats SUCH a huge blessing! You can do something for yourself and your health- while your kids are having fun too- and its only 30 minutes! Unfortunately I have lost weight twice with FBBC because I let me as a priority slack and not taken care of myself. I lost 27 pounds with them the first time- gained some back in the middle- and now that I am back to putting myself on my priority list I am already down 15 pounds in 7 weeks! I forgot the biggest part, they dont just teach you to exercise... before bootcamp I thought that I knew about "nutrition"... man was I wrong. They taught me what nutrition REALLY is. Its not all about looking at and counting calories, ya know eating salads and "low calorie foods"- its all about ingredients- its about knowing what your body needs to be fueled appropriately- knowing what things NOT to put in your body. They go out of their way in and out of class to help you fuel your body with what it NEEDS- that leads to weight loss of course, but its not all about weight loss at FBBC, its about HEALTH! Theyre available in and out of class for questions, motivation, anything. We have an online social media community and all of the members and coaches are always there offering recipes, encouragement, funny stories, anything. They are not only knowledgeable and friendly but also take the time to remember your name and individual needs. I especially appreciate how they provide modifications to accommodate any limitations or injuries, ensuring that I’m pushing myself safely without the risk of further injury. It’s clear that they genuinely care about each member’s well-being and fitness journey.
The energy of the coaches is incredible—they are sincerely invested in making each session a great experience. The structure of the workouts is perfect for me. Each session lasts only 30 minutes but is designed to be highly effective. I love that there is a proper warm-up and stretch beforehand while the coaches demonstrate each movement, and then a guided cool-down stretch afterward. This level of instruction makes a huge difference, especially compared to other gyms where I’ve felt lost or pressured to remember movements from class to class. Here, they go over the exercises every single session, and if you ever forget something, the coaches (or even other friendly members) are more than happy to help.
Another standout aspect of this gym is the community. The other members are incredibly supportive and encouraging, creating a welcoming and motivating environment. Whether you're new or struggling with a particular exercise, there’s always someone willing to help or call over a coach for assistance.
I also love the variety of workouts—the gym mixes things up regularly, and they send out a schedule on Sundays so you can plan ahead based on your preferences (whether you want to focus on strength, metabolic conditioning, etc.). Booking a session is simple with their app, but if you forget, you can just sign in when you arrive. There’s also plenty of space to store your belongings during your workout, and the bathrooms and overall facility are kept exceptionally clean.
The only area that could use improvement is the multiple apps used for challenges and tracking progress. Right now, there are several different platforms to navigate, including Google Forms for several entries, the Fit Body Booking App, the Fit Body Nutrition App, the InBody scale app, and members need a Facebook account and to join multiple groups for full participation. It would be much more convenient if even a few of these were streamlined into a single integrated app.

My goal is to return to a fitness level where I can run comfortably and have fun again. On a whim, I decided to take a free class at FBBC since they were the only place around that had a class schedule that matched my work/home schedule. I wasn't sure what I was getting into and was a little intimidated, until I walked through the door. From the first class, I was hooked. By the end of my first week, I felt my energy return. By the end of 2-3 weeks, my mind felt much more clear and I was being more productive at home and at work. I started working with a coach to help identify what it would take to be able to lose the weight I needed and return to my desired fitness level (from fitness challenges to dietary adjustments). As part of the membership, you get personalized nutrition counseling, regular accountability, and a team of cheerleaders, which is exactly what I needed to begin seeing results. I took the chance on that first (free) class and I found myself a home, a strong team of trainers, and an amazing group of people I can call my friends. Every single person is there to help and see you succeed and it doesn't matter how much or how little you're able to do. It doesn't matter how "fit" you already are.
