Overall horrible experience. I brought them my iPhone 14 to fix a very cracked back. During the repair they broke a piece that deals with my WiFi. They were polite and apologetic and supposedly rushed ordered the piece. I believe it was Daniel who did that repair. At this point I was pretty patient because I do understand that things happen. When the piece came in I took my phone back in to do the WiFi repair. Mind you this is a repair that takes 4 plus hours just like the issue I initially brought my phone in for. Once it was time for me to pick up my phone they let me know that while putting the back on that that something happened to the laminate on my back plate and that they would have to order a new one because they didnât have it. The person who gave me back my phone that day (I didnât get his name) told me that it wouldnât take 4 plus hours because it isnât cracked and should be pretty straight forward. I wasnât offered a rush on the part like the last time. It was at least 2 weeks before I was contacted about the part being in. Instead of just texting me that the part was in like they did before they texted me and left a voicemail that I needed to call about my repair. This was a little alarming to me. When I called them back turns out they were just letting me know about my part being in. This time I spoke to Dustin. I asked about the time of the repair he let me know that it was going to take at least 4 hours. This was the opposite of what the guy in store told me. At this point my patience with this process has worn out. I work Monday-Friday so the only day that I have to bring my phone is on Saturday. It was very discouraging to hear that I would have to do this for a THIRD time. I asked if there was any money off that I could get for the initial repair for the waste of my time and the inconvenience. Dustin let me know that they are compensating me by not charging me for repair. I told him you guys keep breaking it so you shouldnât charge me! He then asked someone about a refund. When he came back on the phone he said that he would have to ask a manager about any type of a refund and that it was very hard to refund once someone paid. Dustin was very polite but after all this I donât trust that they wonât break something else while they are trying to âfixâ my phone again. No manager got in touch with me either. At the end of the day I spent almost $300 to have my phone broken in different ways at the expense of my time. Bring your phone here at...
Read moreI see a lot of positive reviews for this business. My situation may be a one-off rare situation, but it happened so it is worth sharing.
I had a cracked screen on a waterproof phone. Had the screen repaired at ubreakifix. As I took the phone to walk out, I noticed that the edge of the new screen was popped up... like the glue didn't take or something like that. They took it in the back room and did something to it....appeared to work. I was told they had a 90 day warranty in case something went wrong.
Last night my phone took a dive in a pool. It took significant water damage. i was told today by my service provider that it is not repairable and i have to buy a new phone.
I checked back with ubreakifix and was told that water damage isn't covered by the warranty. just functional issues that are a result of their repair. I asked why water wasn't covered since it happened as a result of the repair. I was told that making the phone waterproof wasn't covered by the warranty, but if I wanted to bring the phone by they would be happy to check it out and give me an estimate to repair it.
You must be kidding?
I use my phone to film underwater. Had I known they wouldn't make it waterproof, I would have sent it in through my service provider. This lack of information ultimately cost me the screen repair cost and today a new phone replacement cost. And the best help that I was given is that they will give an estimate to try to repair it for me!
(after reading owner's response)
Are you suggesting that the phone I had may not have been able to take pictures and videos under water? It did so without issue on dozens of occasions until the cracked screen was repaired. I can't understand why you offer a service of repairing cracked screens on something that people buy because it is able to be submerged in water and not tell them that it will not likely be able to be submerged in water again? I even walked out of the store with extra confidence because I was told about the warranty that covered anything going wrong as a result of the repair.
Here I am out $500 as a direct result of something going wrong as a result of the repair and instead of getting warranty help, I am getting offers for me to bring the phone in to see if I can pay for...
Read moreHad a HP notebook 450 g6 for 2 years. Packed it in a box and moved to St. Louis took it out of the box after seven months, and when I plugged it in to turn it on.(cuz laptop batteries have shorter lifespans than mayflyâs) but no turn on. the light external power in, flashed slowly as well as caps lock little light snd power button. All three lights are flashing pretty much simultaneously, and the laptop would not turn on. So I dropped it off at you break I fix in blue Springs. Number one their main priority was to get me to buy their electronics home warranty. đ. But I didnât because I had more concerns about my freaking laptop. Anyway, they said if you donât hear from us in about five business days, give us a call and we should know something by then.. A week later I called them. And after I a lot of a hold on a second rummaging around scruffy noises through the phone, he came back online. He said âyeah I got it right here. Iâm pulling it up um, and proceeded to tell me that my CPU was bad. The laptop was shot, he even went so far as to say, I mean between you and me from the side of the counter receive the Hpuse do this all the time.â Well, I was like what it worked just fine. I put it in a box. I took it out of the box after seven months and now youâre telling me itâs shot out and I have to get another laptop? â well, thank God he at least had enough sense to tell me that they did take the back off, and they followed the power to the CPU and then it stopped at the CPU, which meant the computer was done. Whoâs name went right into? Would you like for us to do data retrieval? We normally charge $100 for that and youâll need to drop off some memory for us. Well, I went and picked up my laptop. A couple days later I did not drop off memory. I took it home. I plugged it back into the authentic HP plug-in instead of the one that actually went to another HP Sim charger, and Wala my HP notebook fired up. I had to hit enter to reboot, but my laptop is working as good as it ever was . That was my experience and I really I I feel super uncomfortable sending anyone there after being told my laptop was crapped out and then it came right back on soon as I brought...
