Sunset Inn — Hotel in Branson

Stay there this weekend. I'm not one to throw a fit when I find one cockroach. Because sometimes life happens and they come in with other people and you don't realize. I did not report it. I just watched my stuff extra well. My issue is with the white woman that was running the desk on my second day. We got our kids dressed and went to the pool. Where we stopped at the gate because there was tons of people around the pool drinking with open alcohol containers sitting on the edge of the pool. Signs all over stating no drinks or food allowed by the pool. So we left the pool area went back to our room. Obviously I'm aggravated because we paid for our kids to get to play in the pool and I will not allow my children to get into a pool that is surrounded by booze literally sitting in the grasp all across and all around the edges of the pool. A lot we're not talking about one or two bottles we're talking about at least 15. With tons of adults they're drinking. I went to the office to report. The white lady at the office literally looked at me like I was stupid. So there was nothing that could be done she could ask them to put it away but they really don't generally do that because it's not a big deal they do it there all the time. I was in shock and I said wow well people with children don't necessarily want their children being that close to open containers of alcohol especially at a place that says they're not supposed to have any foods or drinks in the pool area. Let alone alcohol. She really just laughed at me while I exited out the door. I do not think this has anything to do with the owner or I'm assuming their daughter who was there the very first night of my check-in. All of them were very sweet. Except for the one white employee that I saw. We stayed from Friday night till Sunday morning. I would have left if my rooms were not already paid for. Absolutely will not be back. And I will be telling every single person not to stay there. Not because of the two separate cockroaches on different days. Life happens. But the absolute disregard for a parent's concern about open containers being on the edge all around the pool for their children to get a hold of. I will start with all of the positives- the location was great - off the strip but you can get to everything easily! The king size bed was very comfortable and had relatively new sheets on the bed and a new bedspread. There was lots of hot water and great water pressure. The staff was very friendly and apologetic about anything you mentioned. |Now to the negatives and we dealt with this first one and did not mention because I think I read that in a review that I read before booking- a very slow drain in the tub. The website said everything had been totally remodeled- not in room 104- the furniture - two seats were like those in the breakfast room- old and dirty. There was a towel rack thing on the wall to put your hanging clothes. The breakfast was gravy, biscuit, sausage links, yogurt the first day we were there, and did get yogurt again maybe on Thursday and the lobby and breakfast room no air conditioning- very hot. We only ate breakfast Monday. We did have a bowl of cereal and one had oatmeal another morning. |When I booked our room she told me she would give me their best king room, so I guess she did I did not see the others. I booked a Deluxe double queen room and was very disappointed. The room was very basic and worn down. All of the furniture looked like it had been through war with large damage areas and stains making it look very dirty. The tile looked like it had been replaced recently in the bathroom area but someone was very messy. Brownish Grout was literally scrapped all over the walls which looked nasty. There was a piece of chewed up qum or something stuck to the tile near the sink that had been there long enough to be black and jusy gross. And I found a dead roach on the floor right outside the bathroom. The tub had hairs in it and the toilet paper holder was broken. The vooking details said they had pillow top matresses but the beds were the worst i have ever experianced. We had one little crying from exhaustion who could not sleep because she was so uncomfortable. I was worried she would disturb our neighbors so i ended up sleeping with her in the car for several hours. I booked through a third party booking company so I was afraid I wouldn't receive a refund if I complained and cancelled our booking and didn't want to Have to stay there after complaining so we decided not to voice our concerns.
