Starting with the positives, this is a well kept facility (with the exception of the co roaches all over the changing rooms). You don’t feel dirty like at a lot of water parks. Bathrooms are kept clean and food is honestly a decent price.
Cons: even with life jackets and parents in arms reach, the life guards are too much. They will literally blow the whistle if your kid puts their pinky toe in the wave pool and doesn’t move further into the water, if you’re not within 2 feet. This can’t really be too much of a con, because the alternative is guards that pay zero attention, so take that with a grain of salt. Our kids are both great swimmers, but we make them wear life jackets at places like this because accidents do happen. Cons: there is no consistency between lifeguards. Some seem to be on a teenage power trip. We read the rules for every attraction before participating. At the start of our trip, we spent about 30 minute in the lazy river and then went elsewhere. At the end of our trip, we visited again. The dark haired heavy set lifeguard told us our kid couldn’t come in the lazy river in her own tube. I explained that we had been in the lazy river for the quite some time and she was allowed her own tube with both other lifeguards. She insists she can’t. Whatever, I don’t work here so I don’t make the rules. She rides with my husband. He’s in the tube, she’s on the tube and he’s holding her. Whistle blown. She must be IN the tube with him. Well, the tubes are single rider tubes and you can’t fit comfortably otherwise. Mind you, the water is less than 3 feet, there are two adults in arms reach AND she’s wearing a life jacket, although she can swim. We decide to get out. I went to the front desk to ask for clarification on the rules and was told that if she could keep her head above the tube so that she can be seen, or sit longways with her bottom in the tube, she was fine. Mind you, NONE of this is in the posted rules, furthermore, there’s not even a height restriction sign there. Anyway, I told her that’s what I thought and then explained what happened. She then said it can be at the discretion of the guard. Guess that lifeguard wanted to work as minimally as possible. Rules are rules and are intended to keep people safe. I understand that, but the lack of consistency extremely frustrating.
Con #2 If your child is under 42 inches, they can’t ride a single slide. That’s probably a state regulation, understandable. However, this means they can’t do anything more than what a 0-3 yr old (free entry) can do. Kids 4+ regardless of height, are the same cost. I have a small 4 year old and could’ve lied and gotten her in as a 3 yr old, but I’m an honest person. Her not even being allowed to do the lazy was made me think “wow, I really should’ve just gotten her in for free at this point”. Waste of money if your kid is to short. Admission should be based on height, not age. Quite frankly, I’d be happy with a refund for her admission.
The final pro is that they have a really good all inclusive package if you stay at least 2 nights. It is quite expensive, but I believe if you add up the inclusions and meals, you’ll find it worthwhile. We only did a day pass as we didn’t know about this place upon booking our hotel. Before purchasing our day pass tickets, we had decided to stay here on our next trip. BUT because of our experience the last hour here, we won’t be doing that. They get no more of my dollars until are current and future kids are all at...
Read moreWe had a great time there. Awesome slides, play area, and even an outdoor splash park! It was mostly fun, but we did encounter a few things that confused us. Some of the places in the park seemed old and decayed, while other parts were new. Weird design, which required you to go down zig-zagging ramps just to get to the other end of the park, with no additional stairs. They tired us out and we didn't want to walk about the park for some time after using them. Additionally, some lifegaurds seemed lazy and distracted, which allowed others to openly run or CLIMB over BARRIERS in the park, while others would look down on you for any rule you broke, such as touching the ladder in the wave pool as an example. (not climbing, simply touching it with your hand.) Also, some of the life gaurds gave you an additude for just doing what you're supposed to. The lazy river required you to have a tube with you to even be in it, which was in no clear place as it should, since it was an enforced rule! This creates a line that people have to WAIT in, just go be in a lazy river. Only about eight people were allowed in there at a time. I was told to get out when there were no more tubes by one of the lifeguards, who also gave me an additude. Not like almost every lazy river in the area doesn't do the same. For some reason, vaping was allowed in the enclosed park, which was already humid in itself. They did not get in trouble. There should be a designated smoking area. It was a fun place overall, you just gotta know what to expect. I would reccomend it as a hotel stay, but you should probably not pay for the water park tickets alone. Not my first choice for now, especially if you're paying...
Read moreI have never left a review but felt the need to tell peope that this place has the WORST customer service EVER!! I would leave zero stars if possible. The person at the front desk is on a power trip and has NO business being in a customer service industry. As if Branson attractions aren't expensive enough this place is ridiculous in their policies. Had to pay $54 on top of the $215 that I paid to sit in a unbearably hot, humid room while my 14 and 16 old boys and two friends played at this water park for an hour. I didn't mind staying but to have to pay when it is unneccary and impossible to follow this age child around to watch them. I might have seen them twice as they walked by the whole time we were there. Don't give people a wristband who don't pay so they can't swim. All this said, what really got me was the same rude worker made a mother and small daughter throw away their salads as it wasn't Grand Country's food. He was rude in him approach and totally unempathatic to her situation. What about customers with food allergies and restrictions such as I have. There wasn't anything on the menu I could even come close to eating. They left with the little girl crying and the mother swearing she would NEVER be back. That makes two of us!! Some people just need a break and with workers like you employ I can't imagine how many people you negativity impact everyday. Hope that salad and the negative experience that the worker created was worth it. Too many other places to spend your hard earned money. Empathy and understanding towards others is a good thing-embrace, teach and require by your employees. A little kindness...
